Re: UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida - Live Results & Event Cove
Seven fighters joined UFC President Dana White at the UFC4 on FX post-fight press conference: Clay Guida, Brian Ebersole, Gray Maynard, Cub Swanson, Sam Stout, Dan Miller and Ricardo Lamas.
Submission of the Night went to Miller, who scored a third-round submission (via guillotine) of Ricardo Funch. Miller aggressively hunted for submissions throughout the fight, attempting several guillotines before securing the fight-ending choke late in the final frame. With the victory, Miller gets back in the win column after two consecutive losses.
Stout and Spencer fisher earned Fight of the Night for their trilogy bout. Like their previous two meetings, Stout and Fisher wasted little time exchanging strikes, as both men were bloodied early on. Stout utilized effective takedowns and ground control to earn a unanimous decision, which he dedicated to his late mentor, Shawn Tompkins.
Swanson received Knockout of the Night for his second-round finish of TUF alum Ross Pearson. In an exciting fight contested mostly on the feet, Swanson caught Pearson with a left hook buckled Pearson's legs.
Each bonused fighter received $50,000.
