Five fighters joined UFC President Dana White at the UFC on FOX 9 post-fight press conference: Joe Lauzon, Demetrious Johnson, Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, and Ryan LaFlare
Faber took home Submission of the Night for his victory over tough challenger Michael McDonald. The California Kid blitzed McDonald with a flurry of punches, then locked in a guillotine to get the finish.
Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson was awarded Knockout of the Night for his blistering knockout of No. 1 contender Joseph Benavidez. It took Mighty Mouse just 2:52 to secure the victory, which goes on record as the fastest knockout in UFC flyweight history.
The Fight of the Night bonus went to Edson Barboza and Danny Castillo. Castillo hurt Barboza early and often in the first round, but 'Junior', winner of three straight, rallied to take the last two rounds in impressive fashion.
All bonused fighters received $50,000.
Towards the end of the press conference, White officially announced that Hendricks vs. Lawler will headline UFC 171 and that Nick Diaz turned down a fight with Carlos Condit.
