TKO held the weigh in's at the Le St-Martin Hotel in Laval on Friday at 2pm, with yours truly in attendance. More importantly, Wes Sims was also in attendance despite a possible injury that may have kept him out of the headline event for tomorrow's card. Despite walking with a bandaged left foot, and an obvious limp, everyone was very impressive with his size, at almost 7 feet tall. Standing next to each other, the top of Bossé's head was only at mouth level to Sims. There was no exchange of words today, as all the fighters were very respective of each other. Those those do have grips with each other will let their hands and feet do the talking tomorrow night at the Bell Center. While a few of the fighters seemed concerned about making weight, since they were stripping and getting on the scale before the official weigh in's begin, everyone did actually make weight.

Another fight with a huge height difference is on the undercard, with Ritchie taking on Chretien. Trainer and manager Daniel Gauthier is very high on Chretien, who is a 3rd Dan Judo Black Belt, and has been training hard on his stricking. At 5'6'', he is 5 inches shorter than Ritchie, but is built like a bull for his weight.

Here are the weigh-in Results for tomorrows event:

Wes Sims (244.6) vs. Steve Bossé (230.2)

Yannick Galipeau (170.6) vs. Stéphane Dubé (169.8)
Ben Greer (145.6) vs. Thierry Quenneville (145.4)

Yaotzin Mesa (146) vs. Stéphane Vigneault (145.2)
Gregory Milliard (204.8) vs. Tom Murphy (205.6)
Jeff Harrison (145.6) vs. Tim Wadsworth (145.4)
Syd Barnier (139.8) vs. Guillaume Lamarche (141)
Devin Henry (145.6) vs. Éric Leclerc (145.2)

Sims entered the ring, naturally, to a chorus of boos from the pro-Bosse arena but could be seen grinning from ear to ear. Bosse, in contrast, was greeted with a typical heroes' welcome from the hometown crowd. Within seconds of the opening bell, Bosse closed the distance and Sims jumped to guard, bringing Bosse gently down to the mat with him. From there it was all Bosse, as he uncorked right after right into Sims' closed guard. While the offensive explosion was making its mark with the fans, Sims did well to avoid most damage and cover up.

Then things went a little crazy.

In a misguided effort to penalize Bosse for holding onto the fence, referee Jerry Bolen inadvertently called an end to the contest by waving his arms in a manner in which the commission, along with everyone in attendance, took as a signal for a stoppage.

Visibly upset by the stoppage, Sims, from his back, kicked Bolen in the chest, to which he received a tongue lashing from ringside officials. UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman took up the cause and began to argue the call.

After a 10-minute pause in action, the bout was re-started by the commission with no explanation given to the perplexed crowd.

In the bout's second go, Bosses connected with a three-punch combination that rocked Sims. The match went to the mat and Bosse grabbed hold of an ankle. Sims signaled that he was okay, but the look on his face spoke louder than words, and referee Bolen, again, called an end to the contest -- much to the dismay of both Sims and Coleman.
