Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin

Round One
After a brief feeling out process both fighters exchange kicks. Silva catches a kick from Irvin and lands a straight right which puts his opponent on the mat. Silva steps in landing punches until referee Mario Yamasaki steps in to call a stop to the fight at 1:01.



Brandon Vera vs. Reese Andy

Round One
Vera lands two big kicks before Andy scores a takedown. Vera gets back to his feet but is pushed against the cage. The two alternate kicks. Vera knocks Andy to the mat but tells him to stand back up. The two clinch against the fence and Vera uses a body lock to slam Andy to the mat. Andy returns to his feet and fails a takedown at the end of the round. PDG scores round one 10-9 for Brandon Vera.

Round Two
Andy clinches but is brought down near the fence by Vera. Andy returns to his feet. Andy punches in and eats a head kick. A majority of the round looks more like a staring contest then a fight. Vera lands more effective strikes, but that isn't saying much for either fighter. PDG scores round two 10-9 for Brandon Vera.

Round Three
Round three picks up where two left off. The majority of the round was spent staring each other down and clinching. Andy landed some knees to the thigh and punches, while Vera landed some knees and kicks. PDG scores round three 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for Brandon Vera. Two judges score it 30-27, one scores it 29-28, giving Vera the unanimous decision.



Frank Edgar vs. Hermes Franca

Round One
Edgar scores an immediate takedown and begins landing ground and pound from Francas guard. Edgar uses punches and elbows to lump up Franca's forehead. Franca secures an armbar out of nowhere, but Edgar adjusts his position and yanks his arm out. Franca gets back to his feet. Edgar looks for a takedown but receives a knee to the head and an uppercut for his troubles. Edgar brawls into Franca and avoids an overhand right. Edgar scores another takedown and finishes the round with ground and pound from Franca's guard. PDG scores round one 10-9 for Frank Edgar.

Round Two
Edgar lands a combination and finishes with a body kick. Dodging an overhand right, Edgar scores a takedown. Edgar works ground and pound from Franca's guard. Edgar stands at one point to set up punches and kicks but Franca rolls to turtle position. Edgar grabs on and throws punches until Franca rolls back to mount. Franca scrambles to his feet but is taken down again. The round ends with Edgar in Franca's guard and Franca controlling Edgar's posture. PDG scores round two 10-9 for Frank Edgar.

Round Three
Edgar scores yet another takedown. Franca, desperate, repeatedly scrambles to his feet and throws his legs up from guard looking for triangles, armbars, and omoplatas. Edgar stays safe and tenacious, pushing the pace and constantly putting Franca on his back. Franca works for a sweep then looks for an armbar, but Edgar reverses. Franca eventually returns to his feet and his Edgar with an uppercut and some hooks, followed by a knee which opens a cut around Edgar's nose. Edgar scores one final takedown and rides out the final seconds of the fight in Franca's guard. PDG scores round three 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for Frank Edgar. The judges all agree, each scoring the fight 30-27 for Edgar.



Jake O'Brien vs. Cain Velasquez

Round One
Tied up O'Brien looks for a takedown but Velasquez uses the whizzer to put him on his back. Velasquez works hard for position and secures side control. Velasquez scores a crucifix and rains down punches, forcing O'Brien to squirm. Velasquez continues the assault until referee Mario Yamasaki has seen enough and calls a stop to action at 2:02.




Anthony Johnson vs. Kevin Burns

Round One
Johnson lands an early leg kick, but eats a right from Burns. The two clinch and Burns lands several knees to the thigh. Once separated Burns pushes the pace, bringing the fight to Johnson. Johnson lands an accidental kick to the groin, but after a brief pause the fight continues. Burns pushes the action but is taken down. Ineffective striking from both fighters leads to a stand-up. The round ends with both fighters clinched. PDG scores round one 10-9 for Anthony Johnson.

Round Two
Johnson opens round two with a knee, stunning Burns. Johnson goes in for the kill but is unable to finish. Johnson finds his rhythm and lands several punches and kicks. Burns lands a head kick. Johnson takes the fight to the ground. After another span of ineffective grappling referee Steve Mazzagatti stands the fighters up. Burns receives multiple warnings about watching the fingers to the eyes. The round ends with Johnson scoring another takedown. PDG scores round two 10-9 for Anthony Johnson.

Round Three
Johnson scores another takedown and after no action is stood up. Johnson scores another takedown, which ultimately is stood up. Burns lands an uppercut and Johnson falls to the mat screaming. After confusion Burns jumps in and Mazzagatti calls a stop. Johnson complains about an eyepoke, which is clearly seen in the replay. Despite multiple warnings the fight is controversially ruled a TKO win for Burns at the 3:35 mark of round three.



Jesse Taylor vs. C.B. Dollaway

Round One
Taylor looks for an early takedown along the fence and scores it. After working back to his feet Dollaway lands an illegal knee to the head of Taylor. After a brief time-out which included referee Yves Lavigne warning Dollaway, Taylor looks for another takedown. Dollaway sprawls and mounts Taylor, who gives up his back. Taylor spins back to top position, but sloppy ground-and-pound is reversed and Dollaway sinks in a peruvian neck tie submission, forcing Taylor to tap at 3:58 seconds into round one.
