Apparently Tom Watson has backed out of his fight with Alex Reid.......ACCORDING TO ALEX REID:

Apparently Im not good enougth to fight Tom, (or to dangerous), so Ive just been told, and he doesnt want to risk loosing to me when Im a no body. Well you got me there. Sounds like something else to me though?

Just one thing, why did Tom agree to fight me in the 1st place, over 2 weeks ago? Why only let me know now? Ohwell, screw my fans, srew all my training partners who've been getting hell from me, screw my coaches and family who make so many sacrifices for me, and especially screw me, I dont mind being mucked about, Im sure none of them do either??

According to Watson's Camp though..............no fight had ever been AGREED to:

Just to clarify, the fight with Alex was never accepted or agreed on our part. We were informed over two weeks ago that Mark Epstein had pulled out due to injury and Alex was a possible replacement. Tom has been in America and at the time of Alex being mentioned he was in Montreal training and uncontactable. He then flew between Montreal, Alberquerque and San Diego beofre I could contact him. When I spoke to him and informed him of the opportunity to fight Alex in a K-1 bout we both agreed that it was a fight with nothing positive to achieve.

I feel it is important to say it as it is so I will... Alex has not won a fight in a long time, three and a half years to be exact. The reasons, ie eye pokes, injuries etc are irrelevant to us, they are still losses. Tom has never lost a K-1 or Thai fight, and has won his last four MMA fights convincingly so please somebody tell me what he has to gain from fighting Alex? Bigger fish to fry would be an exaggeration but Alex has everything gain and Tom has nothing to gain. Simple. Saying he was called a 'nobody' is by the way not true at all.

Tom is fighting on 1st March in a full rules Thai fight against a well established K-1 and Thai fighter with a winning record where he has something to gain. To say Tom is dillusional is completely off the mark, sensible would be a better word. However, at no time did we accept the fight and then go back on our word so please check your facts are correct before posting.

Finally Droc, I feel your comments are unwarranted with reference to Tom. Surely as a manager yourself you would know a stupid fight from good one, and using the word dillusional is ridiculous.

What do you expect? The comedian is dead.
