September 23, 2009
LIVE on HDNET

**LIVE Results - NOW**

- 'The Voice' Michael Schiavello and Guy Metzger are on hand to announce the event.

- Crowd seems to be filing in but the event is being held in the community part of the Saitama Arena and daylight fills the area.

- The Black Eyed Peas are apparently playing in the main part of the Arena.

- Metzger picks King Mo to beat Randleman at Sengoku on Nov. 7th.

- DREAM and Sengoku will both have events on NYE - Going Head to Head.

- Jorge Santiago, Akihiro Gono, Omigawa talk during the intermission - Gono will fight Nov. 7th.

- Satoshi Ishii and Hidehiko Yoshida come to the ring to talk about their match-up on NYE.

Main Card:

205 lbs:
Hiroshi Izumi vs. Antz Nansen via TKO - Strikes Round 1 (2:56).

-Nansen comes out wearing a skeletor mask. Izumi makes his entrance to Japanese 80's hairband music wearing his Gi.

-Both fighters seem to like the stand-up striking game. The kickboxer Nansen puts the Judo star down twice and finally finishes him with strikes.

-Antz Nansen takes the mic after his win and calls out Satoshi Ishii.

265 lbs:
Antonio “Junior” Silva vs. “Big” Jim York via Submission - Head/Arm Choke Round 1 (3:51).

-After both fighters exchange 10 leg kicks each, they exchange some punches and Silva takes it to the ground where he sinks in the choke.

-'Bigfoot' Silva takes the mic after his win and says he will stay in Sengoku and be the best HW in Japan.

185 lbs:
Makoto Takimoto vs. Jae Sun Lee via Decision

-Both fighters attempt submissions and each gets a takedown in the 1st round and Takimoto gets round 1 with a judo throw before the bell.

-Lee took advantage with his ground game and won round 2 despite some late knees by Takimoto.

-Lee came out strong with sweep takedowns and both fighters exchanged dominate ground positions. Takimoto has another sweep from the feet and he should take round 3.

**Intermission**

155 lbs:
Ryan “The Lion” Schultz vs. Kazunori Yokota via TKO - Strikes Round 1 (2:31).

-Yokota and Schultz play some feel out and then Yokota lands a huge right and KO's the 'Lion'.

205 lbs:
Ryo Kawamura vs. Fabio “Fabinho” Silva via TKO - Strikes Round 1 (2:28).

-Muay Thai strikes and knees by Silva put Kawamura down and out as his corner throws in the towel.

170 lbs:
Nick “The Goat” Thompson vs. Dan Hornbuckle via TKO - Strikes Round 1 (1:30).

-Hornbuckle controlled round 1 with the striking but was unable secure a few submission attempts.

-Hornbuckle continues the striking onslaught and puts 'The Goat' out.

185 lbs:
Joe “El Dirte” Doerksen vs. Takenori Sato via TKO - Strikes Round 2 (4:27).

-Metzger gives the 1st round to 'El Dirte' and I agree he was definitely more active.

-Both fighters were swinging for the fences and 'El Dirte' landed more putting Sato on the ground where he finishes the fight.

170 lbs:
Maximo “Makishi” Blanco vs. Tetsuya Yamada via TKO - Strikes Round 2 (1:12).

-GNP from Maxi (knee to the ass) causes Yamada to verbally submit.

Undercard:

Sengoku Gold Cup Lightweight bout:
Ikuo Usuda vs. Woo Hyun Baek via TKO - Strikes Round 1

Sengoku Gold Cup Featherweight bout:
Shigeki Osawa vs. Ki Hyun Kim via Decision

Sengoku Gold Cup Bantamweight bout:

The arena looks alot different. They must be in a different part of the Saitama Arena and it is only about 40% full.
