August 24, 2010 North American Street Date for Mafia II

At PAX East this weekend, a sequel to the critically-acclaimed Mafia series will be playable on the show floor. After being pushed back numerous times by publisher 2K Games, the North American release date has been confirmed as August 24th, 2010, with an international release of August 27th for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The gameplay should remain set on the prohibition-era thuggery of its predecessor, which featured a citywide, free roaming style heavily inspired by Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series.
