Despite some controversy in the media and infighting between K-1 and Simon Rutz, the upcoming K-1 World Grand Prix event in Los Angeles, CA will be a huge event for the oft-neglected American kickboxing fans. There's been many rumors regarding the event thus far. Will Quinton "Rampage" Jackson be a part of the card? (probably not) Will the event actually take place? (so far so good) Who will be a part of the event?
Questions still remain to be answered and the line-up is still waiting to be released. Though we can't answer all of the fans' queries, we can confirm one thing: Can't Stop Crazy fighters Romie Adanza and Chaz Mulkey will be a part of the action.
Romie Adanza will be taking part in a highly anticipated, much talked about rematch with the UK's Andy Howson. Romie took home the W in their first bout, which has been debated ever since. In typical British fashion, Howson took to the UK's kickboxing forum to dispute the loss. The rematch will be Romie's chance to show he was and still is the superior muay thai technician. If you know Romie, you know that he brings excitement and electricity to a fight, and with the addition of some bad blood, this will be one you cannot miss.
Though the ink isn't dry on the paper yet, we're also excited to bring the news that Chaz "No Mercy" Mulkey recently signed on to be a part of the K-1 World MAX tournament. K-1 World MAX is one of the world's premier Middleweight division 70kg (154lb) tournaments. He will be facing Shane Oblonsky in the opening stanza at the K-1 World Grand Prix. Chaz is out to show the world why he's considered one of the top American muay thai fighters.
The event just got a whole lot crazier and Can't Stop Crazy's own Joe Schilling and Kevin Ross will be in attendance at the event. It will be a night to remember, so we'll see you at the Los Angeles Sports arena on September 8th.
