SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix on April 6 in Oradea, Romania


After three months of SUPERKOMBAT Tryouts and SUPERKOMBAT New Heroes events, SUPERKOMBAT proudly announced the first World Grand Prix of the 2013 season scheduled on April 6, in one of the most important cities of Romania, Oradea, live on Eurosport from 21:00 CET.

Benjamin AdegbuyiSUPERKOMBAT cruiserweight champion Bogdan Stoica is ready to return in the main-event of the evening after one year break, but also the online legend Alexandru Lungu and the SUPERKOMBAT World Grand Prix from Varna champion Benjamin Adegbuyi has been added on the card.

“Since the beginning of this year we started our project with the SUPERKOMBAT Tryouts and SUPERKOMBAT New Heroes events around the world so in the first World Grand Prix of this season you will see also fighters selected in the last three months. Mohamed Bellazar and Romano Romasco will fight against veterans, but they don’t have nothing to lose. They can show their level and can get another chance in the future.”, said SUPERKOMBAT president Eduard Irimia.

The event from April 6 will include 3 super fights, one reserve fight and the well know 4 man heavyweight tournament. “In the tournament we will have 2 fighters selected from SUPERKOMBAT New Heroes and 2 veterans. We will have Muamer Tufekcic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the winners from SUPERKOMBAT New Heroes Croatia, and Corrie Robbins, a fighter selected from the SUPERKOMBAT Tryouts from Great Britain, but also two veterans, Nikolaj Falin from Germany and Jairzinho Rozenstruik from Suriname. The winner of the tournament will be directly qualified for the Final Elimination event.”, explained Eduard Irimia.

Bogdan StoicaOne of the news expected by fans is related by the return of Bogdan Stoica in the ring after his motorcycle accident from the last summer. SUPERKOMBAT cruiserweight champion, became famous for his flying kicks and knee attacks, will face the new sanda european champion Romano Romasco (the winner of the SUPERKOMBAT Tryouts from Germany) in a super fight at -92 kg division.

“I’m very happy because I will return in the ring. I expected almost a year for that and I want to apologize to my fans because of this break. I promise that I will become stronger than before and you will have a great show in Oradea on April 6.”, said Bogdan Stoica.

Alexandru LunguOne of the most popular martial arts fighters around the world, Alexandru Lungu, returns to his hometown after his quick success against Neil Cooke at SUPERKOMBAT Fight Club Edition from November, 2011. “I’m proud because I’m back in my hometown. My fans will support me as always. You will see a great show next Saturday night.”, promises the online legend Alexandru Lungu.

The event will be held at the “Antonio Alexe” Sports Hall from Oradea, Romania and the tickets can be purchased from www.eventim.ro.
