Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic versus Ray Sefo in Zagreb

Mirko Filipovic will be fighting on March 10th at the Zagreb Arena on the “Cro Cop Final Fight” fight show against legendary New Zealander Ray Sefo. The news was revealed by BBC News.

“So, Sefo has agreed. This is was not my first vote but we are very pleased. I know he was on the short list and we wanted a big name. I believe that our audience and my fans will appreciate a real opponent like Sefo instead of some trash can opponent. It is better to ‘die’ in a great battle, than to bring in someone that I could beat easily.”

According to reports, Mirko Cro Cop has started rehab for a hand injury with training and he will be ready for the battle against Sefo in a little over a month and a half. The main event of the evening will only be a part of the fight card which will see some of the world’s best fighters compete including Daniel Ghita, Mourad Bouzidija and Freddy Kemayo.

If not for CC I never would have had PDG. A lot of the older posters including TUCO, Rattlesnake, McNamara, longlivemma, Rush381, HAl and others like Justin were very helpful throughout the years!

So here is what I have for Cro Cop's Final Fight:

Sefo prepared to ruin Filipovic's retirement party

Kickboxing star "Sugar" Ray Sefo is prepared to play the spoiler role Saturday in Croatia, where mixed martial arts legend Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic's career ends in "Final Fight: Crop Cop vs. Sefo," airing live on FIGHT NOW TV TM - America's only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel - to viewers across America.

New Zealand native Sefo (56-21-1, 38 KO), fighting out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, is a five-time Muay Thai world champion and eight-time K-1World Grand Prix finalist, His more notable K-1 victims include Mike Bernardo, Jerome Le Banner, Peter Aerts, Bob Sapp and Stephan Leko.

Win, lose or draw this is it for Filipovic (16-7, 11 KO), a Croatian sports icon who has starred in the UFC, Pride, K-1 and Dream during his 10-plus year combat sports career. His more prominent kickboxing victories have come against Bernardo, Banner, Aerts, Mark Hunt, Remy Bonasky, Misashi and Sam Greco.

The 41-year-old Sefo, however, hasn't traveled to Croatia to be Filopovic's "dance partner" for his final hurrah. Sefo jumped at the opportunity to fight Filipovic, who pulled out of a 2001 fight against "Sugar Ray" a few weeks prior to the scheduled date. Make no mistake about it, Sefo's on a mission in Croatia to ruin Filipovic's retirement party, even going as far as to boldly predict a win by stoppage before all of the "Cro Cop" fans..

In 2007, "Sugar Ray" became only the second man, one of only five men to date, to knockdown four-time K-1 World Grand Prix Champion Semmy Schilt.Sefo believes that he's quicker than ever, due to his diligent work with a strength-and-conditioning coach, and a poor match-up for the slower "Crop Cop,"

Nine more great kickboxing matchups are scheduled on this once-in-a-lifetime card. Final Fight promises to be a first-class production every step of the way with Michael Buffer serving as ring announcer, actress Jane Park as event host, and former K-1 superstar Nobuaki Kakuda as referee for this exciting night of action.
