Lesnar's coach calling for rematch with Mir

Postby keithlewis » Thu Nov 20, 2008 5:37 pm

After beating Randy Couture on Saturday night, UFC heavyweight champion
Brock Lesnar called for a rematch with Frank Mir.

Mir, his first opponent in the UFC, submitted him with a kneebar when they
met earlier this year and Lesnar would like the chance for revenge.

And he is not the only one. His jiu jitsu coach Rodrigo Comprido is of the
same opinion and believes that a second fight would go Lesnar's way.

"I knew Couture is a strategist but I was confident my student would
surprise him with his speed and technique," he told Fighters Only
correspondent Edu Ramos of BSB Combate.

Before any rematch can take place, Mir must first fight and win against
another Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert, Rodrigo Nogueira.

The two have both beaten Tim Sylvia by armbar – Mir breaking Sylvia's
forearm in the process – but Nogueira has fought more top names.

Nogueira has also never been stopped or submitted in MMA competition,
whereas all three of Mir's losses have been from TKO via strikes.

Comprido – who has schools in Chicago and Brazil - believes that Nogueira
will win the day when he fights Mir, but he is determined to prepare his man
for either potential opponent.

I just don't see how Brock could beat NOG so his only hope is Mir
