EliteXC-contracted welterweights Paul Daley and Nick Thompson are set to square off against each other during a Maximum Fighting Championship event to be held on Feb. 20 in Edmonton, Canada.
Daley confirmed the news with http://www.FiveOuncesOfPain.com this past weekend during the finals of the M-1 Challenge in Amsterdam, Holland.
Both Daley, 19-7-2, and Thompson, 36-10-1, have fought for the EliteXC welterweight title within the past 12 months.
Thompson, a former BodogFIGHT welterweight champion, challenged Jake Shields for the then-vacant EliteXC 170 pound strap during the promotion’s “Unfinished Business” event held on July 26 in Stockton, Calif. Shields submitted Thompson at 1:03 of round 1. A licensed attorney in the state of Minnesota, Thompson has not fought since.
Daley also suffered a submission lost against Shields when he tapped to an armbar at 3:47 of round 2 during EliteXC’s “Heat” event on October 14 in South Florida. The UK native returned to action on Dec. 5 during MFC 19 and TKO’d former UFC and WEC veteran John Alessio at 2:18 of round 2.

Why won't Daley go to the UFC? Does it have to do with EXC contract?

I could be wrong but I think their contracts are still in limbo and fighting for UFC is not an option!
