Iowa OT Calloway charged with OWI
ESPN.com news services
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said offensive tackle Kyle Calloway will be suspended for a game and be required to complete counseling and extensive community service after police say the lineman was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Calloway was arrested after officers stopped him while he was driving a moped into a barricaded area.
Police say Calloway was given a field sobriety and a breathalyzer test, which registered 0.106. The legal limit in Iowa is 0.08.
"I was very disappointed to learn of Kyle's poor judgment," Ferentz said in a statement. "Kyle will be expected to complete counseling and educational requirements, extensive community service obligations and game suspension prior to returning to the field."
Iowa City Police Sgt. Mike Lord says Calloway cooperated with police and acknowledged he drank seven or eight beers.
Calloway, who will be a senior next fall, has started 25 straight games for Iowa. He was listed at starting right tackle during spring practice.

Taurasi faces 3 drunk-driving charges
PHOENIX -- Mercury star Diana Taurasi faces three drunken driving related charges, including extreme DUI, for a July 2 incident in which she also was cited for speeding.
A Phoenix police report released Tuesday shows Taurasi's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent, or more than twice the Arizona legal limit of 0.08 percent.
The 27-year-old guard was cited hours after she scored 22 points in the Mercury's 93-81 victory over the Seattle Storm.
Taurasi pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges and not responsible to the speeding citation.
A police officer who stopped Tauarsi's vehicle after seeing it drift outside a traffic lane near downtown Phoenix claims she was driving nearly 20 mph over the 35 mph limit.
Her next scheduled court date is July 22.
"We're aware of the recent reports in regards to the situation with Diana Taurasi," the Mercury said in a statement. "Our organization takes these matters very seriously. We have discussed the matter internally and determined that until all the facts are known to us, it would be inappropriate to announce a particular course of action."

Police: Saints' McCray declined test
NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Saints defensive end Bobby McCray was arrested early Tuesday and charged with driving while intoxicated and other counts, police said.
Police spokesman Gary Flot says McCray, 28, was stopped by an officer who saw him speeding about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, careless operation of a motor vehicle and not having his vehicle registration with him.
A jail spokesman said McCray was released on his own recognizance around 7 a.m. McCray refused to take a Breathalyzer test, police spokesman Janssen Valencia said.
"You have the right to refuse the test, but it has consequences," Valencia said. "Those include arrest and losing your license."
A person suspected of driving drunk in Louisiana and refusing the breath test automatically loses his license for one year.
Flot said McCray did not resist arrest.
McCray was signed to a five-year contract in March 2008, and took over as the starter during the last half of the season when defensive end Charles Grant was injured. He responded with 37 tackles (26 solo), the second-highest total of his career, and a club-high six sacks.
A seventh-round pick out of Florida in 2004, McCray played his first four seasons with Jacksonville.
This season, playing as a backup, McCray has appeared in all 15 games, and has 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
"We are aware of the situation involving Bobby McCray and we will let the legal process take its course," said Saints spokesman Greg Bensel.
McCray's attorney, Donald Foret, said he planned to talk to McCray later Tuesday and did not comment further.
The Saints (13-2) have clinched the NFC South title, a first-round bye. With Chicago's victory over the Vikings Monday night, they will play all their playoff games at home.
The players had Tuesday off.

Re: PDG Drunk Bus! not a good ride!
Looks like Wolf has a winner on his team.
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence in Miami Beach.
Jail records show Allen was arrested Saturday and was being held at the Pretrial Detention Center in Miami on $1,000 bond.
A spokesman for the Dolphins declined comment, saying the team only recently learned about the incident.
Messages left with the Miami Beach Police Department were not immediately returned. The records did not indicate whether he has an attorney.
Allen is a nine-year NFL veteran. He missed the final 10 games last season because of a knee injury that required surgery.
The New York Giants drafted Allen in the first round and he played five seasons there before being signed by the Dolphins.
