- Dana White announced he had signed the former UFC champion Friday on a conference call with reporters, “We just signed Vitor Belfort. Vitor Belfort is fighting Rich Franklin at UFC 103. It is now Rich Franklin versus Vitor Belfort headlining Dallas.”
- White also announced that Tito Ortiz had signed a new contract to return to the UFC.
White had this to say about the fighter’s contract, “Tito Ortiz will retire in the UFC. He’s coming back into the UFC, fighting the best 205-pounders in the world, period.”
White also has a first opponent in mind, "We're talking about Tito versus Mark Coleman in Tito's first fight and Coleman doesn’t turn down fights".
"I'm looking around towards November or December” said Ortiz, "I'm coming full force. I want to get the title back."
- The UFC has signed a deal with ESPN for their events to be broadcast in the UK; effective UFC 101.
- Paul Daley, Rafael Oliveira, Mark Hominick, Ben Rothwell, Chase Gormley, Dan Lauzon and others have been signed.
- Title bout between Silva and Henderson could happen very soon depending on how Silva does in upcoming bout with Forrest Griffin.
