Big Nog: "What may come ahead, I’m ready"

Rodrigo “Big Nog” Nogueira is very satisfied with the repercussion of
his victory over Randy Couture at UFC 102.



“I think everybody watched that fight in Brazil. After landing in the
airport, a guy came out to talk to me, a taxidriver, many people. My
friends said everyone watched the fight in pubs, everywhere. The
return was cool, that was a good fight and all persons enjoyed it.
That was the fight I trained the most in my life” said Minotauro to
ESPN.com.br



The veteran spent four months training in Los Angeles with his team,
far away from family and friends from Brazil, keeping himself only
focused on the fight. His hard training was crucial for the victory,
according to himself.



“I trained for four months in USA. I spent all that time without
seeing my daughter, my relatives. A week before the fight, I went to
Miami to enjoy one night with my nephews to get that good energy from
them, so I went back to LA to fight. That was cool”.



The legendary fighter enriched his résumé with that 5-round-war versus
Couture, a disput that will be quoted for the fans and media forever
for its historical meaning and performance from the athletes.



“That was one of the great fights I ever did. I beat big names so I
think I perform well under pressure. I fought in his city with twenty
thousand people booing me, so the guy comes in and the attendance made
all that noise, all that carnival for him, but I knew I was about
messing up that party” sad smiling, “I was decided, focused and well
prepared for that”.



There was a rumour over who would come next or whether Big Nog would
waiting the winner of Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin encounter at UFC
106, so the heavyweight star took advantage to explain that there’s
nothing set for him at all.



“I don’t know, it’s up to the promotor of the event. I’m under
expectation, I will do what they order. If it is to fight for the
belt, I will. I don’t want to be much time stopped, though. I used to
fight four times a year in Japan but I haven’t been managing to keep
this pace of action in US, so I want to fight more to maintain the
stride. What may come ahead, I’m ready” finished Nogueira.
