This weekend the UFC will make the trip overseas to visit Abu Dhabi for the first time. The card is stacked with two title bouts and a third marquee match. The event will air live on pay-per-view at 1pm EST and will replay at it's regular time of 10pm EST.
In the main event pound-for-pound great and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva steps into the cage for his sixth title defense against Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Demian Maia. Silva was originally slated to fight former UFC and Cage Rage light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort, but the PRIDE veteran was forced off the card due to a shoulder injury. Chael Sonnen was mentioned as the number one contender, but due to a cut suffered in his win against Nate Marquardt, he would not have enough time to train.
The second main event of the evening pits former UFC welterweight champion and current UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn against Frankie Edgar. This will mark Penn's fourth title defense. Edgar is currently riding a three-fight win streak, including two fight of the night honors.
