Sengoku Raiden Championships 14 - Live Results, PBP & More!

Sengoku Middleweight Championship:

Jorge Santiago vs. Kazuo Misaki - TKO (Corner Stoppage) Round 5

- The challenger, Misaki makes his entrance to what looks like a full crowd now in the Sumo arena dancing through the smoke to what sounded like some Metallica riffs and the champion, Santiago has some rap that I have never heard serenade him as he strolls to the ring wearing his shades from the weigh-ins accompanied by JZ and Sandro.

- RD. 5 - Santiago explodes with a flurry of strikes and knees from the clicnh putting Misaki on his back on the canvas, Santiago moves in and lands great GNP but can't end the fight. Santiago mounts Misaki and more GNP, head-n-arm choke attempt by Santiago but Misaki doesn't tap and reverses. Misaki now works from Santiago's guard. Santiago reverses and works from Misaki's half-guard. Mounted now, Santiago pounds Misaki with GNP and Misaki's corner throws in the towel after about a minute of strikes and only 30 seconds left in the fight.

- RD. 4 - Misaki comes out aggressive, low leg kicks and right-left combos. Against the ropes now and they break, flying knee and spinning backfist by Santiago but Misaki lands a big left hook and Santiago is down on his back. Misaki moves in and so far he can't finish. Misaki mounts, and Santiago gives up his back briefly but Misaki can't finish. They scramble to where Misaki has north-south and after a couple of knees to the head, Santiago gets a red card for going through the ropes to escape. They restart standing in the center of the cage and Santiago comes out swinging, he drops Misaki as the round ends.

- RD. 3 - Santiago now stalking Misaki, they clinch against the ropes and LHK by Santiago drops Misaki. Santiago jumps in and lands some GNP, Misaki regains himself and eventually gets back to his feet. Santiago gets another takedown, works from Misaki's guard and Misaki is bleeding from above his right eye. Minimal GNP from Santiago working in Misaki's guard and the round ends with Santiago in control.

- RD. 2 - Both fighters looking for the big strike, Santiago shoots but Misaki defends and they continue moving around the ring. Combo by Misaki, flying knee by Santiago, left hook, right knee combo by Misaki. Precise striking now for Misaki, body shots, Santiago hits a combo but misses a superman punch. Santiago shoots and Misaki catches him with a guillotine choke. Santiago escapes and he tries a kneebar but the ref stands them up because they were under the ropes.

- RD. 1 - Body kick by Santiago, Misaki clinches against the ropes and lands a knee and foot stomp. When they break, Santiago over-extends and Misaki gets the takedown and works from half-guard. Santiago moves him to full guard, lands a backhand and an upkick and Santiago gets back up only to Misaki take him down again. Misaki peppers Santiago's legs standing while Santiago lays on the canvas. Misaki moves into Santiago's full guard and the round ends.



Akihiro Gono vs. Jadamba Narantungalag - Decision 3-0

- J.N.'s entrance music consists of screaming horses, smoke and some Mongolian serenade, Gono lights up the 3/4 filled arena with just a baseball cap and nothing flashy.

- RD. 3 - J.N. comes out swinging again and landing knees, Gono looks confused. They clinch in the corner and exchange knees, after they break Gono tries to bring J.N. to the ground and he obliges. J.N. works from Gono's full guard, then stands and lets Gono back up. Low leg kick from J.N., right hook from Gono, takedown by J.N. and he works from Gono's half guard. Gono gets to his feet and shoots but gets caught in guillotine attempt, Gono escapes the hold but the fight ends with Gono on his back with J.N. in control.

- RD. 2 - J.N. catches a Gono kick and ends up in Gono's guard. J.N. stands and lets Gono back up, they exchange some kicks and Gono takes a dick-kick from J.N. The fight resumes after the night's 30th groin strike, jumping knee from J.N., Gono trying to pepper J.N. Spinning back kick from J.N. and Gono clinches, gets the underhooks, the takedown and J. N. gets right back up. From the clinch, J.N. gets a sweeping takedown and he is landing GNP from half-guard. Gono is on his back, J.N. is standing and kicking the thighs of Gono and then he moves in and lands GNP from the guard of Gono.

- RD. 1 - J.N. stalking Gono to start the fight, left jabs and low kicks by Gono keeping J.N. at bay. They clinch against the ropes and exchange knees, separating, J.N. gets a takedown but Gono escapes and they are back standing. Gono continues with the left jab, J.N. throwing some body kicks and right hooks. J.N. continues the pressure and he lands a RHK that barely fazes Gono. J.N. pushes Gono to the ropes and is showing some good dirty boxing mixed with knees.



Hatsu Hioki vs. Jeff Lawson - Submission (Triangle Choke) Round 1

- Huge underdog Jeff Lawson comes to the ring with some smoke and traditional Japanese music, Hioki, the son of Shooto, chooses some more festive Japanese tunes and the crown is definitely behind him for this scrap.

RD. 1 - Flying side kick lands by Lawson to start the fight, Lawson the aggressor to begin, Hioki tries to put Lawson in the corner but he comes out swinging. Hioki with his back against the ropes takes Lawson down and gets mount position, After misses with the armbar, Hioki locks in the triangle choke/reverse armbar combo and with blood dripping out of his face, Lawson taps.



Sotaro Yamada vs. Leonardo Santos - Disqualification for Yamada (Several kicks to the dick region)

- The Brazilian makes his way to the ring some music from Gladiator and Yamada announces his presence with some smoke and a run to the ring.

- RD. 1 - Yamada lands a leg kick, catches Santos' body kick and Santos pushes Yamada to the corner and Santos knees Yamada in the junk. Fight resumes, more kicks from Yamada and he kicks Santos in the nutz. Payback? Santos lays on his back and the famous lab coat doctor puts his hands down Santos' pants to check his nutz. Fight resumes, both fighters warned, Yamada catches another kick from Santos and during the scramble lands a right knee to Santos family jewels. Lab coat dudes come in again and check the package. Fight resumes again, red card given to Yamada, Yamada throwing kicks and Santos lands a RHK. They clinch against the ropes and Yamada throws a left knee into Santos balls again and here comes the lab coat guys again, another red card for Yamada. Fight resumes, Santos is pissed and he lands a big knee and puts Yamada on his back but he lets him back up. Both fighters standing and Yamada lands a another knee to the family nutsack and he is disqualified.



INTERMISSION

- Marlon Sandro comes to the ring, belt in hand and is joined by Maximo Blanco and Izumi. Sandro says he looks forward to defeating his belt and will fight anyone Sengoku puts in front of him. Blanco says he is always looking forward to Knockouts in his fights and that he is looking forward to a title fight soon. Izumi states he is training hard and is progressing as an overall fighter.



Sengoku Welterweight GP Series 2010:

Taisuke Okuno vs. Nick Thompson - TKO (Strikes) Round 3

- The Goat is Kung Fu Fighting his way to the ring, while his opponent Okuno has a very subdued ring entrance, almost sleepy.

- RD. 3 - Okuno charges Thompson and knocks him down, Okuno hammerfists Thompson and when Thompson stands upright he eats a big left hook from Okuno and falls flat to the canvas. Thompson leaves the ring on a stretcher.

- RD. 2 - Okuno seems to be taunting Thompson, Okuno lands a big right and Thompsom responds with a combo. From the clinch, Thompson takes Okuno's back standing and eventually gets him down to the canvas. Okuno reverses and works from Thompson's guard. GNP by Okuno and Thompson escapes, they stand and Thompson takes Okuno down. There is a scramble on the ground and Thompson sinks in a guillotine choke but Okuno escapes and takes top position. Back standing now with a minute remaining, Thompson secures another takedown. Minimal GNP by Thompson as the second frame ends.

- RD. 1 - Neither fighter connects early until Okuno lands a right hook and then they clinch in the corner with Thompson pushes Okuno into the ring buckle. The ref puts them back into the center of the ring and Thompson lands a good left jab that bloodies Okuno. Okuno lands a nice combo and Thompson is hurt, missing a takedown Thompson ends up on his back and Okuno moves in and lands some GNP. There is a stoppage of the action as the fighters are moved to center ring. Okuno starts kicking the shit out of Thompson's legs as Thompson lays on the canvas. Back standing now, Thompson lands some good shots and gets a takedown after 2 tries and mounts Okuno as the bell rings.



Kenta Takagi vs. Yasubey Enomoto - Submission (Modified Guillotine) Round 2

- Enomoto comes to the ring wearing a samurai mask and bringing the rap, Takagi chooses some happy club music and a hooded entrance hiding his face.

- RD. 2 - More jabs from Enomoto, blood now coming from Takagi's nose and Enomoto locks in a choke as Takagi misses a spinning backfist and Takagi taps.

- RD. 1 - Some trash talk preceded this fight according to the intros. They start by throwing some weak strikes, then a clinch with both fighters looking to land knees and gain position. Enomoto with precision striking early, several leg kicks to Takagi's body and Takagi keeps looking for the clinch. Enomoto continues to land the body kicks and is also working his jab well, which connects again and puts Takagi on the canvas. GNP from Enomoto as the round ends.



Sengoku Welterweight GP Reserve Bout:

Motoki Miyazawa vs. Takuya Sato - Decision 3-0



Sengoku Asia Bantamweight Tournament 2010 Round Two (2 X 5 Min. Rounds):

Shintaro Ishiwatari vs. Kil Woo Lee via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Round 1

- Lee rolls out to something sounding like the WEC on Versus theme music and Ishiwatari makes his entrance to some very uplifting Japanese techo/dance music.

- RD. 1 - Lee only has 2 fights compared to Ishiwatari's 14. Lee comes out swinging and Ishiwatari tries t tie him up. Lee keeps throwing punches and after some kicks from Ishiwatari, they clinch and Lee knees Ishiwatari in the balls. Fight resumes, Ishiwatari gets a takedown, works from half guard, Lee stands and Ishiwatari lands a knee to his head. Ishiwatari slams Lee to the mat and keeps control of the head. Lee gets up to his feet only to be choked out before the bell.



Takuya Eizumi vs. Shoko Sato - TKO (Doctor's Stoppage) Round 2

- Sato and Eizumi make their respective ways to the ring with little fan-fair but Eizumi is the crowd favorite.

- RD. 2 - Sato comes out striking and throwing leg kicks, Eizumi's face is starting to the punishment he has taken and Sato lands a flying knee. Eizumi gets a takedown though and works from Sato's guard but they stop it to look at Eizumi's bleeding face. The doctor's call the fight.

- RD. 1 - Sato is about 15 pounds heavier and a foot taller than Eizumi. Not much action to start, low inside leg kicks by Sato and one of them hits Eizumi in the nutz. Fight resumes, both fighters trying to land kicks and Sato is more precise. Sato controlling the ring with his striking but Eizumi is countering some. Eizumi gets a takedown but Sato escapes and is now landing at will, Eizumi shoots and Sato sinks in a Guillotine choke as the round ends.



Wataru Takahashi vs. Tatsuya - Submission (RNC) Round 2

- Tatsuya comes to the ring wearing fatigues, a gas mask and carrying an AK-47. Takahashi on the other hand, makes his entrance to some 80's song overlayed with techno music.

- RD. 2 - Tatsuya more aggressive with his striking, Takahashi shoots, gets the takedown and Tatsuya escapes. After a striking exchange Takahashi gets a trip takedown, takes Tatsuya's back and Tatsuya escapes again. Tatsuya blocks a takedown attempt but Takahashi gets it on the second try. Tatsuya escapes and Takahashi takes him back down again. Both fighters back to their feet Tatsuya gets a takedown, nothing there and back up for 1 second until Takahashi takes him down. Takahashi takes his back and sinks in the RNC.

- RD. 1 - Tatsuya landing leg kicks, a brief scramble to the ground, Takahashi pulls the muay thai clinch and lands some good knees. Tatsuya bleeding from the nose, now both fighters are exchanging strikes in the center of the ring. The action is stopped and the doctors check Tatsuya's nose. Back to fighting now, they continue their striking exchange and Tatsuya drops Takahashi briefly but he recovers and takes down Tatsuya. Tatsuya escapes and they are standing and throwing once again. Takahashi gets a late takedown before the first round ends.



Hirokazu Nishimura vs. Jae Hyun So - Decision 3-0

- So makes his entrance to 'There's no easy way out' from Rocky IV after Apollo was killed by Drago. Nishimura comes to the ring to some proper death metal.

- RD. 2 - The second round starts with striking and Nishimura kicks J.H.So right in the nutz and J.H.So is on his back crying in agony. J.H.So is back to his corner and the famous lab coat doctors are evaluating him. The fight resumes after a lengthy break and Nishimura gets a yellow card. J.H.So charges and gets a takedown and works from side control and he tries for a kimura. Nishimura escapes but J.H.So eventually takes his back, body triangle, RNC attempt and the round ends.

- RD.1 - The first round was primarily a grappling match and J.H.So locked in a triangle choke halfway through and after about a minute Nishimura escaped. J.H.So then tried for an armbar but Nishimura escaped again.




-The Opening Ceremony is underway and we should have fights soon. The Sumo arena is about half full.
