K-1/DREAM - Dynamite!! 2010
December 31, 2010
Saitama Super Arena
Saitama, Japan

*Join PDG for our Live results and round-by-round updates beginning at 4:00 AM EST*

Fight #15: DREAM Feather Weight Title Match: DREAM Rules:
Bibiano Fernandes vs. Hiroyuki Takaya - Unanimous Decision

- Takaya was very impressive using superior striking to win the bout without much question and Takaya is now the DREAM FW Champion.

Fight #14: DREAM Light Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Josh Thomson - Unanimous Decision

- Kawajiri used great takedowns and grappling to control Thomson for most of the fight but Thomson did have his moments in the striking game. That said, Kawajiri easily won the fight even though it was his face that bloody following the bout.

Fight #13: DREAM Welter Weight Match: DREAM Rules:
Hayato "Mach" Sakurai vs. Jason High - Split Decision

- High receives a yellow card for stalling on the ground in round 1 and Sakurai gets one in the third round. This fight showcased LNP by High and missed shots by Sakurai. It could go anyway and is in the hands of the judges.

Fight #12: K-1 MAX Light Weight One Match: K-1 Rules:
Akiyo "Wicky" Nishiura vs. Tetsuya Yamato - DRAW

- RD. 1: 10-10
- RD. 2: 10-10
- RD. 3: 10-10

*One judge scored the third round 10-9 for Yamato but overall it was a majority draw. Good Fight!

Fight #11: DREAM Welter Weight Title Match: DREAM Rules:
Marius Zaromskis vs. Kazushi Sakuraba - TKO (Doctor's Stoppage) Round 1 (2:16)

- The fight doesn't last long as Sakuraba's ear explodes from a punch and on the next hit it looks like his ear detaches from his head. Zaromskis retains his DREAM WW Belt.

INTERMISSION

Fight #10: DREAM Heavy Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Satoshi Ishii vs. Jerome Le Banner - Unanimous Decision

- A much improved Ishii used takedowns, ground control and submission attempts to easily win 2 of the 3 rounds.

Fight #9: DREAM Heavyweight Interim Title Fight: DREAM Rules:
Alistair Overeem vs. Todd Duffee - TKO (Strikes) Round 1 (0:19)

- Not much to say, Overeem smashed Duffee, knee to the body, a couple of hooks and Duffee was down falling through the ropes.

Fight #8: DREAM Special Rules One Match:
Shinya Aoki vs. Yuichiro "Jienotsu" Nagashima - KO Round 2 (0:04)

- Round 1 of the fight (K-1 Rules) was a joke as Aoki did everything he could to disengage from running, flopping and clinching.

- Round 2 of the fight (MMA Rules) ended in seconds as Aoki shot for the takedown and Nagashima hit him with a jumping knee, knocking Aoki out instantly.

Fight #7: K-1 Heavy Weight One Match: K-1 Rules:
Gegard Mousasi vs. Kyotaro - Decision 3-0

- RD. 1: 10-10
- RD. 2: 10-8 Mousasi (1 knockdown for Mousasi)
- RD. 3: 10-9 Kyotaro

Fight #6: DREAM Heavy Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Tatsuya Mizuno vs. Sergey Kharitonov - KO (Strikes) Round 1 (1:25)

- Kharitonov didn't waste much time and he floored Mizuno with right knee from the clinch followed by a big right and Mizuno was on ice.

Fight #5: DREAM Free Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
MINOWAMAN vs. Izumi Hiroshi - TKO (Strikes) Round 3 (2:50)

- Apparently if Izumi losses this fight he must quit fighting and go back to the family business - fishing.

- Izumi must not have wanted to go fishing because he used superior wrestling and grappling to control the fight until he started using GNP and the referee had to stop the fight.

Fight #4: DREAM Feather Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Hideo Tokoro vs. Kazuhisa Watanabe - Submission (Armbar) Round 3 (2:02)

- Tokoro put on a submission and grappling clinic but he was unable to submit the former boxer making his debut, Watanabe until the third round.

Fight #3: DREAM Feather Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Caol Uno vs. Kazuyuki Miyata - Unanimous Decision

- Miyata controlled all aspects of the fight, made a bloody mess of Uno's face and suplexed the former star several times in route to victory.

Fight #2: DREAM Welter Weight One Match: DREAM Rules:
Furuki Katsuaki vs. Andy Ologun - Unanimous Decision

- Furuki, the former baseball player making his debut, held his own for three rounds but suffered major damage to his face and Ologun took the decision.

Fight #1: Antonio Inoki Presents IGF Special Rules: Heavy Weight One Match:
Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Bob Sapp - Fight Canceled (Bob Sapp withdrew, it was announced in the arena that Sapp wanted more money and when they didn't give in he said he had lost the will to fight tonight.)

- The fighters are introduced by the voice of PRIDE & DREAM - Lenne Hardt and it is time for the first fight.

- The opening ceremonies take place starting with some bizarre ring girl goodbye, the introduction of the referees and judges and then Antonio Inoki paints a kanji character for "judgment & decision" on a canvas to get the show started. A video montage is showing commemorating the 10 years of MMA on NYE in Japan.

- The Voice and Frank Trigg are the announce team tonight.
