Limited Quantity, New Offerings Plus First Look At Latest Lines, Meet Buffer At Booth No. 2524 At Expo, August 27-28

Image

After two hugely successful UFC® Fan Expo™ events in Las Vegas, Round 5, a leader in producing mixed martial arts collectible figurines, will give East Coast UFC fans the first chance to experience two significant new collections at the upcoming UFC Fan Expo, August 27-28 at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston. In addition to “3-packs” featuring Bruce Buffer, exclusive to Expo in the U.S., Round 5 will display prototypes of its high-detail “Live” series with Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell. Round 5 can be found at Booth No. 2524 on the convention floor.

The “3-packs” are enhanced versions of the new Round 5 “Versus” line, distinctly new figurines highlighting battle scenes from great UFC matches, supplemented with a Buffer figure, not available in any other Round 5 Series at mass retailers in the U.S. The three matchups available in limited quantities at the Expo are "Rampage" Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva (UFC 92), Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell (UFC 66) and Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar (UFC 100).

Images of the “3-packs” can be viewed at http://www.round5mma.com/blog/?p=446.

Buffer will also sign autographs at the Round 5 booth at the Expo.

Expo attendees will also get the first look at UFC “Live,” highly-detailed, realistic, scaled figure statues, packaged separately. Created with the higher-end collector in mind, these premium figures will measure a full 10 inches and will also come with a UFC-branded display stand. Together, the Couture and Liddell figures, created at a 1/7 scale, complete a battle scene from the epic June 6, 2003, first meeting between the mixed martial arts legends.

“UFC Fan Expo arrives at the perfect time for us to offer the exclusive 3-packs with Bruce Buffer and to show fans and collectors the exciting new figurines coming for the holiday season,” said Damon Lau, Round 5 president and co-founder. “The 'Live' line is completely different from anything we have produced, and we are sure that fans will notice and enjoy that distinctive look and feel.”

Fans will also be able to purchase the new “Ultimate Collector” Series 3 figurines at the Expo, including new representations of Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva, Antonio Nogueira, Diego Sanchez and both UFC and PRIDE versions of Wanderlei Silva.

“Ultimate Collector” Series 1 and 2 are now available at leading retailers across North America, and Series 3 will be available shortly. A list of retailers can be found at www.Round5MMA.com.

Round 5 To Distribute Fan Expo Toronto Exclusive Georges St-Pierre Limited-Edition Figure On-site At The Direct Energy Centre & Announces Chance for Round 5 Collectors to Have Their Likeness Turned Into a Collectible Figure at the Toronto UFC Fan Expo

Markham, ON (April 25, 2011) – Round 5 President Damon Lau officially announces the release of the Georges “Rush” St-Pierre UFC Fan Expo Toronto 2011 Exclusive figure and gives details on how Round 5 collectors can have their own likeness turned into a Round 5 figure.

The limited edition GSP figure will only be available at the UFC Fan Expo in Toronto, and will feature GSP in his black gi and signature headband he wore at "UFC 94: St-Pierre vs. Penn 2" where he defeated BJ Penn via 4th round TKO to retain his welterweight crown. Also included in this release is a die cast replica of the UFC title belt.

“The biggest fight in UFC history is happening in Toronto, and as a Canadian company we felt that we had to really give our hardcore collectors something incredible,” said Lau. “We don’t expect that these will be available for more than a few hours, so if you want one, you should arrive early.”

Only 1000 units of the GSP Fan Expo Toronto Exclusive figure have been produced, the figure will retail for $25.00 and can be purchased only at the Round 5 booth at the UFC Fan Expo in Toronto on April 29-30.

Round 5 will also provide attendees of UFC Fan Expo Toronto with the unique opportunity to receive a one-off Round 5 figure created in their own likeness.

“We will randomly attach “Golden Tickets” to the back of select GSP figures, these tickets will entitle the purchaser to have their head scanned, and printed onto an existing Round 5 body,” Lau said. “These figures will be official Round 5 products and will be one of a kind pieces.”

Round 5 will have a 3D imaging scanner at their booth. Five lucky collectors will win the opportunity to have their heads scanned. The resulting unpainted heads will be attached to their choice of existing Round 5 bodies.

ROUND 5 ANNOUNCED EXCLUSIVE GLOBAL LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH BRUCE LEE ENTERPRISES

Markham, ON (May 17, 2011) – Round 5 President Damon Lau announced the exclusive collaboration between Round 5 and Bruce Lee Enterprises for the master toy, role-play, and games license for products created under the Bruce Lee banner.

The master license acquired by Round 5 will allow the company global rights to create Bruce Lee themed collectibles, toys, and games until 2015.

“We are honored to be working with a brand with such a storied legacy as Bruce Lee,” Lau said. “We feel that we can use this opportunity to broaden the reach of both Bruce Lee and Round 5 into the niche collectible and mainstream arenas as there is already so much synergy between our brands.”

Shannon Lee, President & CEO of Bruce Lee Enterprises and daughter of Bruce Lee, believes Round 5 is the perfect partner to carry her father’s legacy into the 21st century.

"We are constantly approached by companies that want to create products under the Bruce Lee name, but we always knew we wanted to wait until we found a company that would adequately compliment my father's legacy,” said Lee. “We are so very proud to have found Damon Lau and Round 5, we believe that Round 5 will honor my father’s name and create products that will respect his legacy."

Product development for Bruce Lee collectibles, toys and games will begin immediately, and are expected to be available for purchase in Fall 2011.

Round 5 Releases New Line Of Collectible Figures: UFC Titans Hitting Shelves Fall 2011

Round 5 President Damon Lau announces an all-new line of collectible figures, UFC Titans, the latest brand extension of Round 5’s incredibly popular UFC license.

“For the last 3 years, we have had a great time working on our Ultimate Collector Series and the complementary UFC Live and UFC Versus collections. We are incredibly excited to announce our latest project: UFC Titans, says Lau. “As the UFC has grown into a mainstream sport, we wanted to produce a new line that appeals to our current fans as well as the new audiences who are finally recognizing mixed martial arts as the greatest sport on earth.”

The 5-inch UFC Titans figures are one inch shorter than the Ultimate Collector Series but share the same points of articulation at the neck, waist, arms and fists. Fans both new and old will see familiar faces in UFC Titans Series 1, as Round 5 will release figures of Randy Couture, Royce Gracie, Chuck Liddell, BJ Penn, and Georges St-Pierre. While the figures feature the same realistic reproduction of the faces of individual fighters, the Titans feature a more light-hearted design featuring oversize heads and, a first from Round 5, all-vinyl construction.

“The design and vinyl construction is reminiscent of the vinyl HAO-Arts PRIDE collectibles. Fans of the UFC brought in by new names like Brock Lesnar or the last season of The Ultimate Fighter may not necessarily know the full history of the sport or have a deep knowledge of the epic PRIDE fights,” says Barron Lau, CEO of Round 5. “Combining current and future UFC Hall of Famers with vinyl construction and a new whimsical concept, we wanted to give new fans of the sport a collectible they can appreciate that still appeals to our hardcore supporters.”

UFC Titans has been in the pipeline since 2008, but Round 5 “leaked” the figures by mixing a few Titans prototypes into their display at UFC Fan Expo Toronto in April.

“We got instant feedback and a lot of questions about the prototypes at the booth and through our Facebook page,” says Damon Lau, “That’s what I love about our fans. You can’t slip anything by them.”

UFC Titans will be available in November 2011 and will retail for $14.99. Round 5 targets a bi-annual series release.
