Arizona State Ready to Host 46th Annual NWCA All-Star Classic
Tickets are now available for this prestigious event through the ASU Ticket Office.
Tickets are now available for the 46th Annual NWCA All-Star Wrestling Classic Presented by the Marines and hosted by Arizona State University. The annual event is set to take place on Monday, Nov. 21 beginning at 7:30 p.m. MST at Wells Fargo Arena. The event will feature 20 of the top wrestlers from around the country, along with some local feature matches, and the complete lineup will be released within the week.
The All Star Classic being held at ASU is a first and a great opportunity for ASU wrestling and the greater Arizona wrestling community,? head coach Shawn Charles said. ?I would like to personally thank the NWCA for giving us the chance to host this prestigious event.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Sun Devil Ticket Office, (480) 727-0000, or by coming to the Ticket Office itself anytime Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission tickets will be available for $10 and children aged two and under will be admitted free.
There will also be a group ticket option available, which allows fans to purchase 15 or more tickets and receive each ticket at a discounted price of $5 per ticket as opposed to the $10 general admission price. Those wishing to purchase group tickets should contact Joe Jerde in the ASU Ticket Office, (480) 727-3511.
Arizona State students will also receive a discounted ticket price of $5 if they show their ASU ID when purchasing tickets. Mat side seating to the event will also be available to the general public for the price of $50 and the passes can be mailed or picked up through will-call on the night of the competition. For information on mat side seating, contact Brian Stith, (480) 965-1464.
We want the Arizona community at large to realize what a great honor this is for the ASU Wrestling program to host this event,? Charles said. ?We would like to see as many people as possible purchase tickets and support this event in any manner and, in turn, support collegiate wrestling and our program in the process.
As a precursor to the main event, Arizona State will also host the first-ever Border War Challenge and a Military Dual as well. The Border Wars will bring some of the top high school wrestlers from states surrounding Arizona (California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah) and showcase some elite competition. The event will be a single-elimination, random draw tournament with eight-man brackets and will get underway at 4 p.m.
The Military Dual will pit wrestlers from the Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix against wrestlers from the United States Marine Corps, the title sponsors of the NWCA All-Star Classic, in a standard dual format. That event will also begin at 4 p.m.
Ticket prices for the early events are the same and those tickets remain valid for the entirety of the competition day.
For more information on the event, fans can contact Levi Jones, (509) 590-3213, or visit the event website at http://www.nwcaonline.com/nwcawebsite/E ... assic.aspx.
