N'Doye to Face James at Cage Warriors: Fight Night 5

JEAN N’DOYE will return to Cage Warriors action next month to take on Liam James in a featherweight bout at CWFC Fight Night 5 in Amman.

N’Doye (5-0-0) has had a lengthy lay-off since his last bout. The unbeaten Frenchman impressively defeated Dan Hope at Fight Night 1 and was scheduled to face James Saville in September, but a head injury forced him out of the clash.

The 24-year-old will be looking for his sixth professional victory against James (5-3-0) in the Jordanian capital on April 12.

James, who hails from Newcastle, will be making his first appearance on a Cage Warriors card.

The 28-year-old Englishman picked up three wins last year but he’ll be keen to bounce back from a defeat to Jay Furness back in October.

Several more fight announcements for CWFC Fight Night 5 will be made over the next few days, including details of another exciting heavyweight main event.

Brents-Barnett Headlines CWFC: Fight Night 5 Live on FN

FOR the fourth consecutive show, a Cage Warriors event will be headlined by an exciting heavyweight tussle.

Bobby ‘Zombie’ Brents will take on Chris ‘Beast Boy’ Barnett in an all-American main event at CWFC Fight Night 5 in Jordan on Thursday, April 12.

29-year-old Brents (12-2-0), who trains out of the MMA Clinic/Fiore MMA in Illinois, returns to action for the organisation following his superb first round submission of Bellator heavyweight Rogent Lloret at Cage Warriors 45 in London on February 18.

His opponent at the New Boxing Arena in Amman, Florida native Barnett (7-1-0), is one of the USA’s top heavyweight prospects.

The 25-year-old’s only professional loss came via decision against 3-0 Bellator star Eric Prindle in October 2010, but he bounced back to secure a second round TKO win against American Top Team’s Mario Rinaldi, before defeating Walter Harris on a decision.

Both fighters will be eager to continue their progress in the heavyweight division in the hope of earning shot at CWFC heavyweight champion Mike ‘300’ Hayes, who captured the title with a victory over Andreas Kraniotakes at CWFC Fight Night 4 in Dubai earlier this month.

Also confirmed for next month’s main card at CWFC Fight Night 5 in Amman is a middleweight bout between Englishman Mike Ling (8-3-0) and France’s Eric Cebarec (8-5-0).

Both fights will be broadcast live by Fight Network – along with Brum v Back, N’Doye v James, Hucin v Cheng and Fields v Phillips – from 7pm (UK) on Thursday, April 12.

Fans can also view three prelims live on the Cage Warriors Facebook page from 6pm (UK). Kicking off the action will be a light-heavyweight contest between Egypt’s Mohamed Ali (4-3-0) and Doo Hwan Kim (3-0-0) of Korean Top Team.

Welshman Kris Edwards (6-3-0), one of Europe’s top bantamweights, will make his Cage Warriors debut against Finland’s Janne Elonen-Kulmala (4-2-0), and Kevin Donnelly (6-4-0) of Lion’s Den in Exeter will clash with Poland’s Piotr Hallman (8-1-0) in a lightweight bout.

Linderman Replaces Barnett at CWFC: Fight Night 5

CHRIS BARNETT has been forced to withdraw from his main event clash with Bobby Brents at CWFC Fight Night 5 in Amman due to a foot injury, but Cage Warriors is pleased to announce that it has secured a high-caliber replacement.

Brents (12-2-0) will now take on former Bellator heavyweight DJ Linderman (pictured) in the Jordanian capital on Thursday night, in a fight that could potentially be a number one contender bout for a shot at recently-crowned CWFC heavyweight champion Mike ‘300’ Hayes.

Adding further intrigue to the situation is the fact that Hayes will be present at the New Boxing Arena on Thursday, and there’s been no shortage of animosity between Linderman (10-3-0) and ‘300’ since Linderman’s decision victory over the latter in May 2009.

Linderman, a 28-year-old from California, defeated Raphael Davis in Bellator's eight-man heavyweight tournament last year, before suffering a split decision loss to Richard Hale at Bellator 42.

“It’s never nice to lose a fighter through injury, and we wish Chris Barnett a speedy recovery,” said Cage Warriors director Graham Boylan. “But I’m delighted to be bringing in someone of DJ Linderman’s quality and this is guaranteed to be an exciting scrap with Bobby Brents.”
