UFC on FX 6 Returns to Oz with Lombard vs. Palhares

"FX 6 Australia Friday Dec 14 Middleweight Bout Rousimar Palhares VS Hector Lombard"

With that tweet on Friday, UFC president Dana White announced the UFC's official date for returning to Australia. That intriguing bout matches two of the most physically imposing fighters in the middleweight division between submission specialist Rousimar "Toquinho" Palhares and powerhouse Hector Lombard. The bout will mark a homecoming of sorts for the Cuban-born Lombard. Though he now trains with American Top Team in Florida, he lived and fought primarily in Australia and is a citizen of the country.

UFC on FX 6: The TUF Smashes Finale

UFC is again venturing into new territories as the finale for the first-ever Australian-filmed season of TUF will take place in Queensland's Gold Coast. The event will be held Saturday, December 15 (Friday, December 14 in North America) at the Gold Coast Convention and Entertainment Centre and be headlined by a lightweight bout between The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs UK – The Smashes coaches George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson.

Also on that card, light heavyweights Ednaldo "Lula" Oliveira and Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski have verbally agreed to meet.

The three-hour live finale will air on FX in Australia as well as in the US and feature the lightweight and welterweight finalists from the show's run.

Anthony Perosh vs. Joey Beltran added to UFC on FX 6 in Australia

http://mmajunkie.com/news/30784/anthony ... tralia.mma

A light-heavyweight bout between Anthony Perosh (13-7 MMA, 3-4 UFC) and Joey Beltran (14-8 MMA, 3-5 UFC) is the latest addition to December's UFC on FX 6 event.

UFC officials confirmed the matchup with "The Daily Telegraph."

UFC on FX 6 takes place Saturday, Dec. 15, at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia. The event's main card airs live on FX (on Friday, Dec. 14, in the U.S. due to the time difference) following prelims on FUEL TV.

Perosh vs. Beltran likely will be part of the prelims.

Perosh, an Australian fighter, had put together a three-fight UFC win streak following stoppage victories over Tom Blackledge, Cyrille Diabate and Nick Penner. However, back in July at UFC 149, he suffered a stunning seven-second knockout loss to promotional newcomer Ryan Jimmo.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, who went 0-2 in his first UFC stint and is 3-2 in his current one, now takes on Beltran, a former UFC heavyweight who received his walking papers after a rough 1-4 skid in the organization earlier this year. After an outside win in his light-heavyweight debut, he returned to the UFC but suffered a unanimous-decision loss to 205-pounder James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL TV 4.

The latest UFC on FX 6 card includes:

Ross Pearson vs. George Sotiropoulos
Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares
"The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. UK" welterweight final
"The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. UK" lightweight final
Joey Beltran vs. Anthony Perosh
Ednaldo Oliveira vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
