ONE FC Announces Next Event on 2 Feb in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


ONE FC CEO Victor Cui today announced that the promotion’s next event will be held on 2 February 2013 in Kuala Lumpur. Entitled ONE FC: RETURN OF WARRIORS, the event will be held at the largest indoor arena in the capital city of Malaysia, the state-of-the-art Stadium Putra, which is configured to hold up to 15,000 fans. Details regarding the fight card will be released at the press conference shortly.

ONE Fighting Championship has announced that it will be returning to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 2 February 2013 with a Featherweight World Championship title fight between Eric “The Natural” Kelly and Honorio “The Rock” Banario. All the action takes place live from the state-of-the-art Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Plus, the first two bouts of the inaugural four-man Malaysian National Featherweight Championship Tournament will take place as National Silat Champion AJ “Pyro” Lias Mansor squares off against Muay Thai Champion Jian Kai Chee and the slugger from Johor, Melvin Yeoh will look to score an impressive win in his ONE FC debut against Raymond Tiew.

In addition, the top MMA prospects in Malaysia prepare for a battle of supremacy as UK CFC Champion Peter Davis takes on Indonesia’s Leo Krishna and the up-and-coming Gianni Subba battles highly experienced Muay Thai fighter Saiful Merican.

ONE FC Announces Malaysian National Featherweight Tourney


ONE Fighting Championship has announced the launch of the Malaysian National Featherweight Championship Tournament. Four of the top Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) prospects in Malaysia will battle it out in the first round of the tournament at ONE FC: RETURN OF WARRIORS which takes place live on 2 February from the state-of-the-art Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The two fights signed for this historic tournament are Raymond "The Rocket" Tiew taking on Melvin "Overkill" Yeoh and AJ "Pyro" Lias Mansor squaring off against Jian Kai "The Headhunter" Chee. By the end of the evening, Malaysians will know who the top two contenders for the National Featherweight Championship title will be.

Raymond Tiew is a Sanshou Champion who has also represented Malaysia at Wushu. He is a stand up specialist with explosive striking which never disappoints the avid MMA fan. Tiew knows that this is his chance to show that he is the top Malaysian Featherweight but first he must get passed the brawler from Johor Bahru, Melvin Yeoh.

Melvin Yeoh has been called the top MMA prospect in Malaysia by international MMA media. A full-time school teacher, Yeoh has received much media attention both outside and inside the cage. He has always kept his gym doors open for kids on the streets looking to better themselves by learning the discipline associated with MMA and the valuable life skills that go along with the sport. This ferocious warrior will carry the weight of the community, gym and country come 2 February.

The second fight of the tournament will be between AJ "Pyro" Lias Mansor and Jian Kai Chee. Mansor is the first thoroughbred Silat fighter to ever compete in MMA. His athletic ability earned him the National Silat Champion crown in the past and he will now turn his razor sharp striking toward his opponent, the Muay Thai champion Jian Kai Chee.

Chee has competed against some of the top MMA fighters in the region including Ole Laursen, Arnaud Lepont and Eddie Ng. Chee's strength is his ability to finish a fight in an instant with punches, kicks, knees or elbows and will be looking to showcase his arsenal of skills at the Malaysian National Featherweight Championship tournament on 2 February in Stadium Putra, KL.

Three Indonesian Fighters Set to Battle at ONE FC 7


Singapore: Three Indonesian Mixed Martial Artists are set to battle in ONE Fighting Championship on 2 February 2013 when ONE FC: RETURN OF WARRIORS takes place live from the world-renowned Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. These three Indonesian warriors will be carrying the weight of an emerging super power, with a population of 247 million people, on their shoulders as they step into the famed ONE FC cage on fight night.

Indonesian MMA veteran Zuli Silawanto has a background in kickboxing, Pencak Silat and Submission Wrestling. Silawanto is a warrior who has never backed down from a tough fight and stepping into the ONE FC cage for the second time will be the biggest test of his career and will be his first major test outside of Indonesia against an international opponent. He faces Malaysian hometown hero Adam Kayoom in front of a passionately pro Malaysian crowd and fans can expect nothing but high octane action when these two brawlers meet at ONE FC: RETURN OF WARRIORS.

Antoni Romulo is an Indonesian wrestling champion who made his MMA debut in Bali, Indonesia in 2007. After tasting victory with a TKO in his debut he has had to wait almost six years for his second fight and aims to take all that frustration out on his opponent come 2 February. He has been training extensively in BJJ and has also cross-trained in Chinese Sanda. Romulo is determined and eager to put on a display which will linger long in the minds of fight fans for years to come.
