Re: GLORY 11 Chicago - Fight Card Updates
Errol Zimmerman (100-9-1, 41 KO’s) and Hesdy Gerges (42-12, 19 KO’s) are to clash at GLORY 11 in the Heavyweight World Championship Tournament reserve bout. The winner of the fight will earn the right to be inserted into the final of the four-man tournament should either of the initial finalists be too injured to continue.
Zimmerman challenged Semmy Schilt for the GLORY heavyweight title last year. The hard-hitting veteran has an astonishing 100 victories to his name, 41 of which have come inside the distance. Known as ‘The Bonecrusher’, his career victories include knockout wins over Jerome Le Banner, Rico Verhoeven and Mourad Bouzidi.
Gerges is the former heavyweight champion of It’s Showtime, the leading European organization which was acquired by GLORY last year. His career victories include wins over Daniel Ghita, Badr Hari and Ruslan Karaev. The fight with Zimmerman will be his GLORY debut.
“Both these fighters are known for being hard-hitters who look to finish their matches well inside the distance. We can expect an explosive fight from them,” remarked GLORY matchmaker Cor Hemmers.
GLORY 11 takes place at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday October 12. The show will air on SPIKE TV and features a light-heavyweight rematch between bitter rivals Tyrone ‘King of the Ring’ Spong and Nathan ‘Carnage’ Corbett.

Re: GLORY 11 Chicago - Fight Card Updates
Three fights have today been confirmed for GLORY 11 CHICAGO. Signed bout agreements are in place for all three fights
Former world-ranked #1 light-heavyweight Danyo Ilunga (53-5, 40 KO’s) will look to bounce back from his GLORY 9 tournament disappointment when he faces the hard-hitting Michael Duut (38-4, 17 KO’s) of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Ilunga, a student of Remy Bonjasky and equally prone to using his illustrious trainer’s trademark flying knee technique, won two consecutive fights in New York to book a spot in the final. He was then stopped by Tyrone Spong to take the tournament’s runner-up spot.
Duut came out of the tournament at #6 in the rankings and will crack the Top Five if he can score an impressive win. He looked to be on course for a big upset at GLORY 9 when he dropped Spong in the first round of their quarter-final fight, only for Spong to rebound instantly with a knockout blow of his own.
Gabriel Varga (22-2, 8 KO’s) is the son of a Shotokan Karate instructor and was a black belt by the age of sixteen. He has also spent extensive time in Thailand training the native art of Muay Thai. Varga has numerous national and international championships to his name and is 1-1 in GLORY after debuting in the 8-man featherweight slam tournament earlier this year.
Making his debut against Varga is Shane Oblonsky of Seal Beach, California, heading into what he calls “the biggest fight of my life”. Oblonsky arrives in GLORY having blasted his way through regional and international opposition, with numerous first- and second-round KO’s to his name.
British lightweight Reece McAllister (36-4-1, 12 KO’s) returns to the Glory World Series ring for the first time since beating Tim Thomas in his March debut. He will face Australian knockout artist ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Moxon (33-6-1, 22 KO’s). Moxon was originally set to face Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante but the Blackzilians fighter has been forced to pull out with an injury.

GLORY ANNOUNCES VETERAN BROADCAST TEAM TO DEBUT SATURDAY AT GLORY 11 CHICAGO ON SPIKE TV PREMIERE
Deep Bench of Veteran Talent on Both Sides of the Ropes!
GLORY, the world’s premier kickboxing league, today announced the addition of an all-star broadcast team to debut at GLORY 11 Chicago on SPIKE TV, LIVE from the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, this Saturday October 12th.
Veteran mixed martial arts and boxing announcer, Mauro Ranallo will be calling the play-by-play alongside color commentary by American kickboxing icon, former Super Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion and top MMA trainer, Duke Roufus.
“I love kickboxing, simply put. I love the honor of the sport, the respect amongst competitors, the training -- all of it,” says Roufus. “It's very gratifying to see an organization like GLORY put kickboxing back in its rightful place in North America as a top spectator sport. I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Ranallo, who made his name as a top combat sports broadcaster by being the voice of PRIDE Fighting Championships and Showtime Boxing, brings his unique style back to GLORY kickboxing.
“I’ve always loved kickboxing. It's great to see it on SPIKE," says Ranallo. “GLORY rules kickboxing is going to gain traction in the US like we’ve never seen before. I can’t wait to play my part in that, but no more than these amazing athletes that will show millions what kickboxing looks like today.”
Post-fight interviews will be conducted inside the ring by longtime "Inside MMA" broadcaster and fight analyst, Ron Kruck.
"I'm looking forward to a winning announce team, and working closely with Duke and Mauro," said Kruck. "The three of us have spent several lifetimes involved in fight sport and we want to bring that passion to the viewer."
GLORY 11 Chicago will be headlined by GLORY Light Heavyweight Tournament World Champion Tyrone ‘King of the Ring’ Spong (89-5-0, 59 KOs) vs. Australia's Muay Thai legend Nathan ‘Carnage’ Corbett (57-3-0, 43 KOs), in a signature rematch of their 2009 bout.
