Paul Daley Returns at BAMMA 14 Dec. 14

The UK's ultimate Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA is proud to announce its return to Birmingham on 14th December with BAMMA 14 at the LG Arena. Tickets for BAMMA 14 go on sale at 9am tomorrow at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

British bad boy, Paul 'Semtex' Daley brings his explosive power to headline the BAMMA 14 card as he is set to face his biggest challenge to date. Renowned as one of MMA's most dangerous and exciting strikers, the Welterweight returns to fight on BAMMA for a third time with a current record of 33-12-2. Daley previously headlined BAMMA 5 in where he demolished Yuja Shirai in just 1:46; while BAMMA 7 saw him win over distance against Jordan Radev. Fighting predominantly internationally since, including at Strikeforce and on Bellator, Daley is now exclusively signed to BAMMA in the UK and can be expected to deliver a compelling performance on 14th December. His opponent is yet to be confirmed.

Paul Daley said: "I'm excited to fight in Birmingham in front of my UK fans. Expect an action packed fight and a KO finish in true Semtex style"

BAMMA's Managing Director, Ashley Bothwell, said:

"We are thrilled to have Paul Daley back on BAMMA again for our Christmas event in Birmingham. He is one of the world's most entertaining fighters to watch and is constantly developing his arsenal, so with every fight there's a unique and compelling story. I'm excited as the fans to see what Semtex brings this time to the BAMMA 14 headliner on 14th December."

Barnaoui vs. Fletcher Set for Lightweight Title at BAMMA 14

Colin 'Freakshow' Fletcher is set to challenge new BAMMA World Lightweight Champion, Mansour Barnaoui, for the title at Mixed Martial Arts event BAMMA 14, which takes place at Birmingham's LG Arena (UK) on 14th December. Tickets are on sale at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

Touted as one of the world's hottest unsigned competitors in the Lightweight division, Mansour 'Tarzan' Barnaoui fights out of Team Magnum in Paris, with a current record of 10 -2-0 and his two losses via decision. The French Tunisian stunned at BAMMA 13 when he stopped Curt Warburton via TKO just 4:08 into round 1 to earn the BAMMA World Lightweight crown. The new champion wasted no time in calling out BAMMA's exclusively signed Colin Fletcher to challenge him for the title.

Sunderland's Colin 'Freakshow' Fletcher returned to BAMMA from the UFC for BAMMA 13 to defeat Welsh talent Tim Newman, bringing his record up to 9-3-0. First appearing on BAMMA for BAMMA 8, Fletcher became instantly renowned for his 'evil clown' walk-outs and spikey aggression in the cage. Fletcher returned for BAMMA 9 where he clinched a compelling victory over Jason Ball, before entering the TV show contest, 'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes'. His one post-TUF fight with the UFC saw him go the distance with Mike Ricci at 'UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz' to harbour a decision loss. Following a return to form on BAMMA 13 Fletcher will be looking sustain a winning streak following his derailing of Newman.

Colin Fletcher said: "Its an honour to be given the chance to fetch the BAMMA world title back home to British soil where it belongs. Although I respect him as a fighter, I don't think much of him personally: By calling me out straight after winning a world title shows that he doesn't see himself as a true champion. Anyone can be a good fighter but it's something else to be good champion. Fans can expect an angry Freakshow. He's annoyed me so I'll be training harder than ever."

Mansour Barnaoui said: "It's great to become a World champion. It is my first international belt that I've been hoping for for so long. I had good preparation with my coach Aziz and our team Magnum. I want to thank BAMMA, and my manager Razi Demni for giving me this opportunity and making this dream come true. I had always been dreaming about this moment and now I'm living it. BAMMA is surely the best international MMA show in Europe: My goal is to test myself against the best in this sport and to defend the belt facing the best contenders. To be the best among the best, this is my fighter way.

"My next opponent, Colin Fletcher, is one of the most talented fighters in UK. Like Curt Warburton, he is a veteran of the UFC. He fought and won bravely in his last fight in BAMMA and now he gets his ticket to a title bout that he was no doubt expecting. I called him out to prove to everyone that I am not afraid of facing the most famous fighters in the UK or the world. Fletcher's fans expect to see him win the fight. My fans expect to see me back home with the belt. BAMMA fans and MMA fans from all over the world are expecting a totally action-packed fight, as intense as I gave last time I stepped into the BAMMA cage."

Daley vs Silva, Askham vs Pascu at BAMMA 14

BAMMA is proud to announce that Ion Pascu is set to challenge Scott Askham for the BAMMA World Middleweight title at BAMMA 14. The Mixed Martial Arts event takes place at Birmingham's LG Arena on 14th December. BAMMA 14 tickets are on sale at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

BAMMA's exclusively signed Scott Askham holds an 11-0-0 record, with his first 8 professional victories achieved between 4 seconds and 2:48 and an unblemished record at Amateur. The majority of his conquests have come via TKO. Askham first stepped into the BAMMA cage for BAMMA 12 where he defeated Harry McLeman by Rear Naked Choke. The Doncaster fighter then went on to secure a victory over BAMMA's former British champion, Jack Marshman, before returning for BAMMA 13 where he successfully tested his grappling against the far more experienced BJJ black belt, Jorge Michelan Bezerra and earned the BAMMA World Middleweight title.

Romanian, Ion Pascu, hails from Bucharest and fights out of the Ministry of Martial Arts and Golden Glory with a professional record of 7-3-0. Renowned for his dangerous knock outs, around 50% of his MMA victories have also been scored by TKO. Pascu has fought across various European and British promotions. He is now on a three fight winning streak which includes a stunning first round knock out of Jack Marshman at BAMMA 13.

Askham said: "I'm looking forward to ending the year with a bang. It's been a big year for me and I can not wait to defend my belt. Some people say you're not a true champion until you have defended your title. Ion has earned his shot by putting away Jack (Marshman) like no one else, but the belt will be staying in Yorkshire. As always, the fans can expect Fight of the Night potential."

Pascu said: "Its a huge honour to be fighting for such a prestigious title and following in the footsteps of some great fighters. Scott is very experienced and a good all round fighter, with good reach and cardio. I have a strong desire to win the BAMMA title, and passion not to disappoint the fans as well as the coaches and my manager Alex Burzotta. It's going to be an exciting fight and fans will not be disappointed: I am coming to fight and strap that belt around my waist."

PAUL 'SEMTEX' DALEY VS ROMARIO 'JUNIOR KILLER' SILVA

Earlier this week it was exclusively revealed by Ariel Helwani at MMA Fighting that Paul Daley will be facing Brazilian, Junior Killer Silva, of the Blackzilians for the BAMMA 14 Welterweight headliner. Daley is currently signed exclusively to BAMMA in the UK.

Romario Manoel da Silva aka "Junior Killer" hails from Brazil fighting out of the Blackzilians and Jaco Hybrid Training Center. With regular appearances on Shooto and Jungle Fight in his home country and recent appearances in the US on Legacy and Shark Fights, Junior Killer holds a record of 23-10-1. Through victories via KO, TKO, Decision and a range of submissions, Silva has demonstrated his ability to dominate no matter where the fight goes. Romario is looking to leverage his experience to become a name within the sport while he's still in his prime, and he sees a fight on BAMMA as a significant step on that path.

According to manager, Joshua Husak, "He's not on Paul's level in terms of popularity and visibility, but if anyone underestimates his skill level as compared to Daley's, they would be making a misjudgment. Junior Killer is a valuable asset to the Blackzilians. I think a win against Paul Daley would prove how deep in talent the Blackzilians camp really is. We have probably 8 or 10 guys who could compete at the highest of level in MMA right now that most fans have never heard of; but Glenn Robinson (ASM's Founder and CEO) has created an optimal training environment here in south Florida unlike any other in the world...one that is conducive to grooming future Champions in this Sport. We are very excited for the future."

Junior Killer said: "I am very excited to fight on BAMMA in December. This will be my first time fighting in the UK so I am very anxious to put on a good show for the fans. Fans watching can expect to see me bring the fight to Paul. I never stop training, so my hope is to beat the best Paul Daley possible and let people know who I am. I would like to thank BAMMA for the opportunity and thank Paul for accepting the fight with me. "

Paul Daley commented: "He's a tough opponent, but I don't expect easy challenges. It's in my nature to test myself, my training and my faith. I'm confident I will destroy him, so he will see what its like to be locked in the a cage with the finishing machine."

Murrie vs Johnson, Lewis vs Edwards Added to BAMMA 14 on Dec. 14

BAMMA is proud to announce a British Welterweight title fight to BAMMA 14, as Wayne Murrie is set to face Michael Johnson in a contest for the belt. Another Welterweight match up has also been confirmed as Wendle Lewis meets Leon Edwards at the Mixed Martial Arts event that takes place at Birmingham's LG Arena (UK) on 14th December. Tickets are on sale at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

WAYNE MURRIE VS MICHAEL JOHNSON - BAMMA BRITISH WELTERWEIGHT TITLE BOUT

Wayne 'Mayhem' Murrie boasts a record of 16-5-1 and a history of tough contests. 12 of his victories have ended in the first round (via KO, TKO and Submission), while Murrie has also shown he can go the distance against some of the UK's finest. Hailing from Doncaster, Murrie has a decorated Thai-boxing past and is currently considered to rank at #11 for his weight class in the UK and Ireland.

Michael Johnson fights out of Keddles Gym and Legacy BJJ and brings 13 years of professional MMA experience into the BAMMA cage. With a fight record of 9-5-0, his finishes have come by way of Submission and TKO. Johnson last appeared at BAMMA for BAMMA 5, where he defeated Paul Cook via Unanimous Decision. Johnson is currently on a four fight winning streak and his last fight was in at GWC in the United States in June, where he defeated Jerome Martinez via Unanimous Decision. Johnson is the current Welterweight champion for Fusion and GWC.

Wayne Murrie said: 'Its great to be fighting for the BAMMA British title against a very tough opponent. My training camp is going well and very soon I believe our team at Ludus Magnus Doncaster will have its 2nd BAMMA champion'.

WENDLE LEWIS VS. LEON EDWARDS

Wendle 'Nice Guy' Lewis holds a professional record of 6-1-0, with all his finishes by KO or TKO. Lewis comes from a striking background, studying Karate from the age of 7 before moving into Kick-boxing and then Muay Thai. The Essex fighter can lay claim to 22 years Martial Arts experience.

Leon 'Rocky' Edwards fights out of Birmingham's UTC and has attained a professional MMA record of 4-1-0 since 2011, with his one loss via DQ for an illegal knee. He also stood undefeated at Amateur over 7 fights. Edwards defeated Jonathan Bilton at BAMMA 11 via TKO just 1:11 in to round 2. He returned for BAMMA 13 to clinch a first round Submission win over Adam Bousif via Arm-Triangle choke.

Lewis said: "I'm really pleased to finally be a part of the BAMMA promotion. I knew from the first show they had back in summer 09 that they would do well and that I could see myself representing such a respectable promotion. Fans can expect me to always put on an "edge of your seat" performance and I look forward to entertaining them. My fight with Leon Edwards can't be anything but action packed. Leon appears well rounded with killer instinct and I'm of the same stock, so I know this fight won't go to the judges: It's either him....or me."

Edwards said: "I'm looking forward to returning to BAMMA in my home town. My fans can expect to see a lot of excitement and me going for the finish. My opponent does not matter. I plan on going out there and performing. I'm ready to go now!"

Hallam vs Widmer and Shah vs Craven Added to BAMMA 14 Prelims

Europe's flagship Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, has added two more enticing bouts to the BAMMA 14 preliminaries. These are to be showcased on the Christmas show, BAMMA 14: Daley vs. Da Silva, that takes place on 14th December at the LG Arena, as the promotion returns to Birmingham (UK): Matt Hallam is set to faces Curtis Widmer at Middleweight in a clash of giants; while Zi Shah looks to shine against Amateur title holder Andy Craven at Featherweight. Tickets are on sale at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

MATT 'FARMERBOY' HALLAM vs CURTIS 'FARMER' WIDMER

Representing Team Rough House, Matt 'Farmerboy' Hallam comes from a solid camp that includes Jimmy Wallhead and Andre Winner as training partners. Renowned for his striking, the 35 year old stands tall in the Middleweight division at 6'3. Hailing from Boston, Lincolnshire, Hallam brings a Professional record of 3-2-0 with all wins by TKO. His two career losses have come at the hands of Yannick Bahati, and up and coming Harry McLeman via Guillotine Choke at BAMMA 13.

Jude Samuel said: "For Matt this fight is all about vindication: He has to prove to himself that he belongs on this stage. His last fight was against Harry McLeman on BAMMA 13 in which he lost. He felt that he did not perform up to the standard that he has been used to and that the occasion got the better of him. There are no easy fights at this level and a win over a tough opponent like Curtis will go a long way in making his dream realised. I expect him to come flying out the blocks."

Curtis 'Farmer' Widmer trains under Jimi Manuwa at Lion's Pride MMA in Croydon and is among the gym's home-grown talent. Starting off in the Amateur division at Heavyweight he has since cut down to Middleweight. Known for his impressive cardiovascular endurance and a hunger to win at all costs, Widner holds a professional record of 2-0.

BAMMA Matchmaker, Jude Samuel, said: "Curtis is a well-rounded fighter and one that has grown up in the sport. He used to fight at Heavyweight and has jumped down 2 divisions to Middleweight. I think that alone will help him handle the size of Matt Hallam. However, Matt has been here before, has gone through the BAMMA jitters and is hungry to remove his defeat from back in September. Although Curtis will be new to this, the vast experience of his team around him should help him. It's a clash of giants: Two very big Middleweights, who could effectively fight in any division above them."

ZI SHAH vs ANDY CRAVEN

Doncaster's Zi Shah represents team Ludus Magnus and brings a professional record of 4-0-0. Well versed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shah is also the UCFC British Featherweight Champion and has a reputation for a huge confidence in his own ability.

Shah said: "I'm very excited to be on such a big stage along with team mates Scott Askham and Wayne Murrie, who will be bringing back the belts to Ludus Magnus, Doncaster, as we look for 3 wins out of 3 on the night. I feel this is my time to shine."

Grimsby's Andy Craven comes to BAMMA 14 with a 2-0 professional record. Craven has grown up in Mixed Martial Arts and made his professional debut in March 2013 after building an Amateur (Semi Pro) record of 8-1 over two years. Craven holds 1 British 'Semi-Pro' title and 1 European 'Semi-Pro' title, and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He fights out of Fight Ministry headed by coach, Neal Lofts.

Craven said: ''I'm feeling very excited and motivated about the upcoming fight. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to showcase my skills on such a big stage so I would like to thank BAMMA. Fight night can't come quick enough! I respect Zi as a martial artist and a fellow competitor from the regional MMA circuits and look forward to meeting a quality opponent on December 14th. I'll win this fight because I plan to be the better prepared and better-rounded fighter on the night. Anything can happen when the cage closes but the fans can expect to see the best version of myself step in there ready to entertain and have my arm raised victorious at the end.''

BAMMA Matchmaker, Jude Samuel, said: "Craven has been looking forward to this fight and plans to make sure that although he's the underdog, he is the underdog that bites back and bites back hard. He will be planning to spoil Shah's rise abruptly. Shah will have his work cut out for him on BAMMA 14. The fight is a tough one for both, so it will bring out the best of both these young talents."

Wallhead vs Betorangal and Howard vs McLeman Added to BAMMA 14

Europe's flagship Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, has confirmed that fan favourite Jimmy Wallhead will be returning for BAMMA 14. He is set to face French Welterweight Florent Betorangal on the televised main card*, as exclusively revealed by Inside MMA on AXS-TV (US) on Friday. Another preliminary battle has also been added to the card, as Rough House 'Wrecking Machine', Matt Howard, takes on former army boxer, Harry 'Mad Mac' McLeman at Middleweight. 'BAMMA 14: Daley vs. Da Silva', hits Birmingham's LG Arena on 14th December; and tickets are on sale at http://fola.me/Ly8g5

JIMMY WALLHEAD vs FLORENT BETORANGAL

'Judo' Jimmy Wallhead (24-8-0), "the people's hero", is classed among the UK's elite. Active professionally since 2005 in both the Middleweight and Welterweight divisions, the Leicester stand-out debuted at BAMMA for BAMMA 7 in 2011, where he defeated MMA legend Frank Trigg. Following a knockout demolition of Villasenor at BAMMA 8, Wallhead returned on an exclusive UK multi-fight deal, to defeat former UFC contender Matt Veach at BAMMA 12 earlier this year. His shot for the BAMMA World Welterweight title was thwarted at BAMMA 13 by US veteran Eddie Ellis, in a controversial judges' decision that left him reeling. The fight saw Wallhead break both Ellis' jaw and his own hand in the opening minutes and both men battle on to survive three rounds.

Seeking redemption at BAMMA 14, Wallhead said: "I'm looking forward to the fight. I'm focusing hard on fixing my mistakes. I think the opponent has very good style and is coming off a big win. My goals are to keep improving and to put on a better performance next time."

At 30 years Florent Betorangal is one year older than his opponent and debuted professionally in 2007, with a background in Taekwondo. Training out of Parabellum Combat Club in Paris, France, Betorangal has scored a 14-7-0 record over his career with the lion's share of his conquests via Submission.

Betorangal said: "I am happy to fight in one of the best MMA organisations in the world, and certainly in Europe. It is an honour for me to take part in this incredible fight at BAMMA 14. To fight Jim Wallhead, who is one of the top UK fighters of this weight division, is exactly what I want to be doing...fighting top fighters. When I take a fight I am always well prepared mentally and very determined to win. Jim is a tough and well-rounded guy and it won't be an easy fight, but I will go hard for sure."

MATT 'THE WRECKING MACHINE' HOWARD VS. HARRY 'MAD MAC' MCLEMAN

From an army boxing background and competitive on the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu circuit, Harry 'Mad Mac' Mcleman holds a professional MMA record of 5-2-0. The Plymouth fighter debuted at BAMMA 12 fresh off a stunning first round victory over Sam Mensah, via his trademark Rear Naked Choke: Coming in as a late replacement at Catchweight for Scott Askham, BAMMA 12 was to bring his first career loss. At BAMMA 13, McLeman returned to score a Guillotine victory over Team Rough House's Matt Hallam. Now at BAMMA 14, fans see him up against Hallam's team mate, Matt Howard, who will be looking to avenge the loss. Although expecting "another tough fight" McLeman fully expects "to come away with the win":

"I feel like I'm the better rounded fighter which will make the difference on the night. Fans can expect me to leave it all in the cage as always."

Matt Howard comes from a Gypsy background and has boxed since he was 15 years old, winning "pretty much everything there was to win". With a professional MMA record of 9-1, Howard stood undefeated until he faced Lee Chadwick at OMMAC in Oct 2012 to lose on Decision. Only one of Howard's victories has been achieved outside of round 1 and notably his first 5 recorded win times came within the first 1:15. With the majority of wins by KO or TKO (punches) Howard has earned himself the moniker, 'The Wrecking Machine'. The Team Rough House competitor debuts in the BAMMA cage following a period disrupted by injuries.

Howard said: "I'm feeling great and looking forward to this fight. My injuries have cleared up and I'm very excited about finally making my debut on BAMMA. Harry is clearly a very good fighter and I respect him after his win over my team mate Matt Hallam (at BAMMA 13), but I see some areas I'm going to exploit in his game. So, be ready for me to have my hand raised at the end of the contest, preferably following a KO in what I hope will be an exciting start to my time with BAMMA."

Saville vs Duquesnoy Added to BAMMA 14

Europe's flagship Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, has confirmed a Featherweight bout between James Saville and Tom Duquesnoy to the BAMMA 14 preliminaries. BAMMA 14: Daley vs. Da Silva takes place on 14th December at the LG Arena, as the promotion returns to Birmingham for its Christmas show.

James 'Scraps' Saville fights out of AVT fight team in West Yorkshire with 9 first round victories out of 12 to his name. Scraps has scored the majority of his wins via a range of Chokes, and also via TKO. He has also obtained his losses by the same methods against respectable competition.

Tom 'Fire Kid' Duquesnoy comes from France and has fought across Europe. Fighting out of Team Kayjn, Tom holds a record of 7-1-0. Only one of his fights have made the third round and he has won two of his fights within the first 36 seconds. The 20 year old, known for his devastating speed and aggression, most recently beat the previously undefeated Scott Hunt via way of TKO in just 34 seconds at the Margate based Killacam Promotions.

BAMMA'S VP of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said: "I kept hearing about Duquesnoy: He has some serious talent and power in those hands of his and he could be the next big thing in the Featherweight division. Scraps is not to be overlooked either as another upcoming talent known for his durability and excellent ground game. These guys are set to present a real challenge to each other on the night and I can't wait to see how this fight maps out."

Nunes Replaces Injured Askham at BAMMA 14 on Dec. 14

BAMMA World Middleweight champion, Scott Askham, has been forced to withdraw from his BAMMA 14 title fight with Ion Pascu due to an injury which puts a pause on the title challenge. Stepping in to replace Askham is Max Nunes, as he drops in weight for his first fight in the Middleweight division. Nunes vs. Pascu takes place on 14th December as Europe's flagship Mixed Martial Arts show hits Birmingham's LG Arena.

Replacement Max 'Power' Nunes returns from his first career loss at Light Heavyweight against Jason Jones for the BAMMA World Light Heavyweight title. Prior to that the London based Swede was undefeated with a professional MMA record of 11-0-0 with his first eight victories secured within the 1st round. Quickly earning a reputation for athleticism and immense physical prowess, the former basketball player created waves internationally. His BAMMA 13 defeat at the hands of Jones was considered by many to be a major upset. BAMMA 14 marks Nunes' first fight in the Middleweight division as he looks to bounce back from his first ever loss.

Max Nunes said:

"I always intended to fight at Middleweight as I am not a big Light Heavyweight and previously did not cut any weight. I have always fought at my walk around weight. Ion is a very good striker and I have a lot of respect for him and I'm excited to be back fighting at BAMMA: I have a lot to prove. My last fight was my worst performance yet and I want the chance to showcase what I can really do."

In a statement to fans and to his opponent, Scott Askham said:

"I have never had to pull out of a fight in my whole career and have always fought through any slight injury. So, as I'm sure you'll appreciate, I am gutted; especially with this being the first defence of my BAMMA world title. I'd like to apologies to the fans and to my opponent; but rest assured I'll be back in 2014 stronger than ever. Finally I'd like to thank BAMMA for their understanding and wish them well for BAMMA 14 which is set to be an amazing event."
