Re: UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira - Fight Card Updates
Top Ten flyweight contenders Joseph Benavidez and Tim Elliott will throw hands at UFC 172 in Baltimore on April 26. A two-time 125-pound title challenger, Benavidez will look to get back in the win column after his December loss to Demetrious Johnson. Also hoping to get back to his winning ways will be Elliott, who lost a three round decision to Ali Bagautinov at UFC 167 last November.

Re: UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira - Fight Card Updates
The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that pound-for-pound king Jon “Bones” Jones will return to the Octagon on Saturday, April 26 at Baltimore Arena to make an unprecedented seventh UFC light heavyweight title defense against No. 2 contender Glover Teixeira, who is undefeated in the UFC. The event marks the organization’s first ever trip to Baltimore.
Jones, the brother of Baltimore Ravens star defensive lineman Arthur Jones, holds the UFC record for most light heavyweight title defenses with six. The dynamic striker and powerful wrestler will now meet the heavy-handed Teixeira, who has reeled off five straight wins in the UFC.
In addition to the Jones-Teixeira showdown, two more light heavyweights will meet in Baltimore when the division’s fourth-ranked competitor and 2008 national champion wrestler at Penn State Phil Davis (12-1, 1NC, fighting out of San Diego, Calif.) meets the explosive Anthony Johnson (16-4, fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla. by way of Dublin, Ga.), who returns to the UFC riding a six-fight win streak.
The card also features top middleweights in action as former STRIKEFORCE middleweight champ and sixth-ranked Luke Rockhold (11-2, fighting out of San Jose, Calif.) takes on No. 11 Tim Boetsch (17-6, fighting out of Sunbury, Pa.). No. 5 ranked Jake Ellenberger (29-7, fighting out of Lake Forest, Calif.) returns to action against former STRIKEFORCE welterweight champion and ninth-ranked Tarec Saffiedine (15-3, fighting out of Temecula, Calif.). Also, No. 2 ranked flyweight Joseph Benavidez (19-4, fighting out of Sacramento, Calif.) hopes to rebound when he takes on eighth-ranked Tim Elliott (10-4-1, fighting out of Lee’s Summit, Mo.).
Highly-touted lightweight prospect Joe Ellenberger (14-1, fighting out of Omaha, Neb.) makes his UFC debut against Honolulu’s Yancy Medeiros (10-1), while, battling to break into the featherweight rankings, Max Holloway (8-3, fighting out of Waianae, Hawaii) will meet recent UFC recruit Andre Fili (13-1, fighting out of Sacramento, Calif.), who is coming off an impressive second-round knockout victory in his promotional debut.

Jim Miller and Bobby Green square off at UFC 172
The UFC 172 main card on April 26 is likely to get off to a rousing start, as always-exciting lightweights Jim Miller and Bobby "King" Green have verbally agreed to meet in Baltimore.
New Jersey's Miller has won two of his last three bouts, defeating Joe Lauzon and Fabricio Camoes. Green has been on a nearly unstoppable hot streak, winning seven straight, including UFC victories over Jacob Volkmann, James Krause, and Pat Healy.

Re: UFC 172: Jones vs. Teixeira - Fight Card Updates
Gomi is back!
For the first time since his controversial split decision loss to Diego Sanchez in March of 2013, Japanese superstar Takanori Gomi will return to the Octagon to face Isaac Vallie-Flagg in a UFC 172 bout to take place on April 26 in Baltimore. Before the Sanchez bout, Gomi had won two straight over Mac Danzig and Eiji Mitsuoka, returning the former PRIDE champion to prominence in the lightweight division. Vallie-Flagg, who has gone 11-1-1 in his last 13 bouts, was scheduled to face Danny Castillo at UFC 172.
With original opponent Isaac Vallie-Flagg now meeting Takanori Gomi at UFC 172 on April 26, Danny "Last Call" Castillo will have a new dance partner in Baltimore, as he squares off with Charlie "The Spaniard" Brenneman in a lightweight matchup verbally agreed to Wednesday. Winner of five of his last seven bouts, Castillo is coming off an exciting three rounder with Edson Barboza last December that resulted in a majority decision defeat, but a Fight of the Night bonus as well. Against fellow wrestler Brenneman, who has won four of five since a 2012 loss to Kyle Noke, he will seek a return to the win column.

Lightweight Bobby Green has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 172 bout against Jim Miller due to injury. Stepping in for the April 26 bout against the New Jersey standout is Hawaii's Yancy Medeiros. Medeiros was originally scheduled to face Joe Ellenberger on the Baltimore card. Returning veteran Vagner Rocha will now take on the debuting Ellenberger.
