DREAM Announces Lightweight Grand Prix

Postby NWOWolfpack » Wed Feb 13, 2008 9:39 am

At a press conference on Wednesday, the new collaborative effort, DREAM announced plans for a Lightweight Grand Prix. DREAM is a combined effort between FEG (K-1, HERO'S) and former DSE staff (PRIDE).

The new event is a drastic change following new creative leadership over HERO's. FEG is hoping to bring new life to their MMA show and the addition of former DSE staff is what they are looking for.

The tournament is set to feature HERO'S 2006 and 2007 HERO'S 154-pound tournament champion Gesias "JZ" Calvancanti, HERO'S 2007 154-pound tournament finalist Andre "Dida" Amade, PRIDE veteran Mitsuhiro Ishida, former Shooto champion Joahim Hansen, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Caol Uno, Bu-Kyung Jung, Luiz "Buscape" Firmino, Strikeforce's world lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, and Koutetsu Boku.

The tournament will kick off on March 15.

I'm VERY excited for this...

I'm picking JZ to win it all one-sidedly.
