UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City gets what should be a Fight of the Year candidate.

Lightweight contender Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has made no secret of his desire to fight six times in 2014. Well, on Wednesday, July 16, he will be halfway to his goal, as he has verbally agreed to face New Jersey's own Jim Miller in the five-round main event of the UFC Fight Night Card at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City. Winner of three straight, Cerrone has been on a tear with his finishes of Evan Dunham, Adriano Martins, and Edson Barboza, each of which earned him a post-fight bonus. Whippany's Miller is unbeaten in his last four, as he's defeated Joe Lauzon, Fabricio Camoes, and Yance Medeiros.

Welterweights Story and Howard collide in Atlantic City this summer.

The UFC's July 16 event at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City will get an exciting jolt of welterweight action as veteran standouts Rick "The Horror" Story and John "Doomsday" Howard have verbally agreed to meet on the UFC Fight Night card. With both fighters coming off close losses, Story to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 171 and Howard to Ryan LaFlare at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi, there's plenty on the line for both 170-pounders.

Lightweight vets Tibau and Healy to meet in Atlantic City this July.

The UFC lightweight division will continue to get its share of the spotlight on July 16 in Atlantic City, as veterans Gleison Tibau and Pat Healy meet in a pivotal bout verbally agreed to on Monday. In the UFC Fight Night main event at the Revel Casino, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone meets up with fellow 155-pound contender Jim Miller. Former Strikeforce standout Healy is in search of his first UFC victory this summer against the Brazilian powerhouse, while Tibau seeks a return to the win column following his December 2013 loss to Michael Johnson.

Exciting lightweights collide in July, as Barboza faces Dunham.

Winner of three of his last four bouts, lightweight action hero Edson Barboza will fight in his adopted home state of New Jersey for the first time since 2011 when he faces Evan Dunham in UFC Fight Night action on July 16 in Atlantic City. The event at the Revel Casino will see the number 11-ranked striker look to bounce back from his April loss to Donald Cerrone against the talented Dunham, who was forced out of his April bout against Mark Bocek due to injury. But come summer, Las Vegas' Dunham will be ready to go against the Muay Thai ace and his highlight reel arsenal.

Also added to the card is a featherweight meeting between exciting up and comers Jim Alers and Lucas Martins. Martins, who has won two straight, is moving up to the featherweight division to face Alers, whose nine-fight winning streak includes a decision victory over Alan Omer in his UFC debut last month.

Hoping to bounce back from her first pro loss, The Ultimate Fighter 18's Jessamyn "The Gun" Duke has landed on the UFC Fight Night card in Atlantic City on July 16 against Leslie "The Peacemaker" Smith. Duke, a popular member of the Ronda Rousey-led Four Horsewomen group, defeated Peggy Morgan last November before an April 2014 decision loss to Bethe Correia. California's Smith gave an impressive effort in a short notice defeat against Sarah Kaufman in their April rematch, and she'll be seeking her first Octagon victory this summer.

An injury has forced John Howard from July 16th's UFC Fight Night card in Atlantic City.


A quarterfinalist on season one of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Leonardo Mafra Teixeira will make his return to the UFC on July 16 in Atlantic City, as he replaces the injured John Howard against welterweight standout Rick Story. Holding an 11-1 pro record, Santa Catarina's "Macarrao" has won five straight, all by knockout, since his loss to Thiago Perpetuo at UFC 147 in 2012. Story has split his last four bouts, defeating Quinn Mulhern and Brian Ebersole while losing close split decisions to Mike Pyle and Kelvin Gastelum.
