Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will look to keep his number one ranking intact on Saturday, August 23, when he faces the fifth-ranked Rafael dos Anjos in a five-round main event that will headline UFC Fight Night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Henderson is coming off his second consecutive win since losing his title to Anthony Pettis in August of 2013, as he submitted Rustam Khabilov in the fourth round in Albuquerque on June 7. That same night, dos Anjos delivered one of the most impressive wins of his UFC career as he stopped Jason High in two rounds, putting him at six wins in his last seven bouts.

After a triumphant return to the Octagon in April after two years on the sidelines, the injury bug has once again bit welterweight Thiago Alves, who has been forced out of his August 23 bout in Tulsa against Jordan Mein. Stepping in for the "Pitbull" will be Colorado phenom Brandon Thatch, who has finished both Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago in his first two Octagon bouts.

August 23rd's UFC Fight Night event in Tulsa, Oklahoma got a double jolt of intriguing fights added to the show headlined by the lightweight bout between Benson Henderson and Rafael Dos Anjos. In welterweight action, number eight-ranked Demian Maia meets up with fellow ground ace Mike "Quicksand" Pyle, who currently sits at the number 12 slot at 170-pounds. Also verbally agreed to is a middleweight clash between Brazil's Thales Leites (#15) and Canada's Francis Carmont (#12).

Injuries to Demian Maia and Brandon Thatch have forced them from their August 23 bouts against Mike Pyle and Jordan Mein, respectively. Pyle and Mein weren't without opponents for the Tulsa event for long though, as the two welterweight standouts will now face each other in the UFC Fight Night co-main event. The FOX Sports 1 card is headlined by the five-round lightweight matchup between Benson Henderson and Rafael Dos Anjos.

Former Ultimate Fighter competitor and seven-fight UFC veteran Ben "Killa B" Saunders will make his first appearance in the Octagon since 2010 on August 23, when he takes on UFC newcomer Chris Heatherly in a UFC Fight Night bout in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

4-3 during his first stint in the UFC, with knockouts of Marcus Davis and Brandon Wolff, Saunders has gone 8-3 outside of the promotion over the last four years, and the 31-year-old Floridian is eager to get back in the welterweight mix. Illinois' Heatherly arrives in the Octagon with an impressive 8-1, 1 NC record that includes a current four-fight unbeaten streak.
