Lion Fight signs Gaston Bolanos to exclusive multi-fight contract
Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight, has announced he has signed Gaston Bolanos to an exclusive multi-fight contract, stating that the 142 lb. Muay Thai standout has agreed to fight exclusively for Lion Fight, the premier standup combat sports organization and world’s largest and most active promoter of full Muay Thai rules events.
“I have built Lion Fight as the promotion that brings in the most respected names in Muay Thai, and the one that finds the next American superstars,” said Kent. “Gaston Bolanos is both, and with the fast-paced, technical fighting style he showed in his first two bouts, he proved he deserves this contract with Lion Fight. Gaston is definitely one to watch in the sport of Muay Thai.”
“I cannot express how excited I am to sign an exclusive agreement with Lion Fight,” said Bolanos. “It has been my dream since I was a child in Peru to fight Muay Thai on a global stage. Now Lion Fight has given me this opportunity and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Scott Kent and Christine Toledo for believing in me and elevating Muay Thai to the level it deserves.”
Just 21 years old, Bolanos is 2-0 in the Lion Fight ring and has already delivered back-to-back fight finishes through two stunning performances. He defeated Brian Del Rosario by TKO in his professional debut at Lion Fight 14. He followed that up with an aggressive and dominant win over Tyler Toner at Lion Fight 16, punishing Toner with elbows and scoring from the clinch, bringing fans to their feet, then forcing a stoppage before the start of the second round.
Bolanos started training in combat sports at the age of 10 in his native Lima, Peru. Now based out of Dublin, Calif., Bolanos trains under Kirian Fitzgibbons and current Lion Fight Super Lightweight Champion Kevin Ross, out of Combat Sports Academy. He is a two-time South American Muay Thai Champion, U.S. Muay Thai Champion, and a two-time USA representative at the IFMA World Championships. As an amateur, Bolanos racked up 23 wins with more than a dozen fight finishes. As a professional he remains undefeated.
Bolanos joins the growing roster of athletes signed to exclusive contracts including Tiffany Van Soest, Lion Fight Super Lightweight Champion Kevin Ross, and rising star Jason Andrada.
