It looks like the United States Air Force needs some heavy research machinery at a low cost. Who do they turn to? The PS3, 300 of them to be exact.
"The Air Force Research Laboratory is conducting a technology assessment of certain cell processors. The processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost."
Heres the RFP (Request for Proposal) link: http://www.fbo.gov/spg/USAF/AFMC/AFRLRR ... psisP.html

do you realize what this means?
if we ever go back to war (i mean, i know we are now, but i'm talking a congress-declared war with a draft and rations and stuff)...
not only will we be low on gasoline, rubber, etc...
but there will be no more PS3s available and they may even have to requisition existing ones!!!
oh noes!!! time to put a pacifist in the oval office to save our consoles!!!!
