Submissions may take more technique but you can't just throw wild punches---most of the time you have to have good technique plus power and timing for the KO.

I rather see Big Nog get the hell beat out him and two seconds later, lock on a triangle or andaconda rather then see Chuck run around the ring for 2-3 rounds waiting for his opponent to run into something!

So I go submissions, since they don't rely on a lucky punch as much as knockouts do, submissions is just pure, slick technique!

I couldn't have said it better.

Still surprised this is up.

i think it depends on the situation.

for instance anderson silva tapping out travis lutter with a triangle choke was more impressive than if he finished him with strikes.

also if a certain fighter talks trash pre-fight and says their ground game is better or their striking is better and they lose by KO or submission.

in general i prefer a KO to a submission unless it's a really impressive or rare submission. or like i said if a fighter talks trash about having a better ground game and then gets submitted, that's always fun to see. but it goes both ways if a grappler like gonzaga KO's cro cop then it's way more impressive than if he sub'd cro cop.

I would have to agree. Take the Ninja vs. Bonello fight. Bonello came out talking all kinds of shit before the bell. Ninja proceeds to knock him down, rape choke him and KO. Definitely a better finish than if he subbed him!

So I guess it just depends on the situation. 8)
