Dan Henderson vs. "Toquinho" Palhares - Official!

By Edu "Fatality" Ramos

Bebeo Duarte – Brazilian Top Team Leader – informed Tatame Magazine that Dan Henderson has accepted to fight Rousimar Palhares and Joe Silva, UFC matchmaker, has agreed.

"Murilo (Bustamante) stated he would like to see "Toquinho" (Palhares's
Brazilian nickname) fighting tougher opponents and it seems the UFC heard him.

We're hopeful he does an excellent job versus Dan Henderson. The plan is go ahead to the belt as soon as possible. Of course, Henderson is a hard guy but we're sure Toquinho will get a win and into the line for the title. He is focused to become the champion."

This fight will take part of UFC 88, September 6th.

Palhares is one of the best fighters who appeared on the MMA scene recently. The guy tries to get the submission at all moments during the fight and he usually is able to succeed. He has victories over Fabio Nascimento, Daniel Acacio and Helio Dipp for submission.

Dan Henderson is a well rounded fighter who became champion in two Pride divisions: Light and Middleweight. Anderson "The Spider" Silva defeated him but he continues with a great career which already includes victories over Wanderlei Silva and Rodrigo Nogueira.

Will this challenge versus Henderson will put Rosimar Palhares under pressure?

Nobody knows. Let's wait and check this amazing bout.

Henderson definitely needs to keep it standing. That said he should KO Palhares...........

Looks like a "good" card but that's it. I'll definitely be rooting for Hendo!
Just a minor step back, we'll get over it

I would imagine 3 or 4 more fights added.

It's a pretty good card right now...

Chuck/Rashad
Hendo/Palhares
Franklin/Hamill
Karo/Yoshida
Tavares/Pellegrino

Kim, Tavares, and Ryo/Carneiro are also featured.

Not the greatest card ever, but still pretty good.
