Baroni's Suspension Reduced to Six Months

Postby broncofan » Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:04 pm

Following his appeal with the California State Athletic Commission yesterday, UFC and PRIDE veteran Phil Baroni's suspension for the use of two anabolic agents has been reduced from one year to only six months. His original fine of $2,500 was upheld.

Following his June 22 bout with the legendary Frank Shamrock, the CSAC announced that Baroni had tested positve for Boldenone and Stanozolol. Both are banned substances.

Despite providing evidence and testimony to support his side of the case, the CSAC still determined that Baroni was guilty of using anabolic agents -though two members of the commission felt he was innocent.

Baroni will be eligible to fight after December 22.

So why did they lessen it even though he was found guilty? Just cause 2 people disagreed?

If you test positive...gone for a year!

I don't know how they come up with a reduced sentence.

House of 1000 Corpses...

But in Baroni's case, I think he should have been let off... he pretty much proved his innocence, but 1 douchebag commissioner wouldn't back down. The CSAC is a circus.
