Olympian Completing Nationwide Camp Tour


Coach Ken Chertow has conducted Weekend Warrior Training Camps over the past 10 weeks in 20 different cities across the nation. Chertow's camps are designed for wrestlers ages 6 to 18, and many campers travel hundreds of miles to attend.

This weekend Chertow's Wrestling Camp will be at his Home Training Center in State College, PA, and will be conducted in conjunction with a tourney hosted by Penn State with over 500 college wrestlers in attendance. The fall camp tour concludes the following weekend on the west coast with camps in Nevada and Oregon.

The upcoming 20th annual Winter Break Training Camp is a core component of the Gold Medal Camp System. This camp, held during the break from school, December 26-31, will attract hundreds of dedicated wrestlers of all ages. Wrestlers from across the country fly into Philadelphia annually to attend this challenging camp. The Winter Break Training Camp is conducted at the King of Prussia Crowne Plaza Convention Center. Campers eat, sleep and train in this great facility which is located next to the King of Prussia Mall, one of the largest malls in the nation. Many families come with their wrestlers to learn along with them while also visiting the mall stores and restaurants along with the sites of Philadelphia.

The 22nd annual Gold Medal Summer Camp System will again be expanding in 2012 and the schedule will be announced January 1. Last summer, guest clinicians teaching with Coach Chertow included Olympic Gold Medalist and Biggest Loser Star Rulon Gardner and NCAA Champion and ESPY Winner Anthony Robles.

USA Olympian's Nationwide Camp Tour


USA Olympian Ken Chertow will be conducting wrestling camps in 22 different states this summer. Starting May 26, this will be the 24th consecutive year that Coach Chertow has been conducting his nationwide camp system.

Coach Chertow is a three-time NCAA All-American and three-time NCAA Academic All-American at Penn State University. Coach Chertow is very involved at every camp personally teaching every day throughout the summer along with his incredible staff. Coach Chertow has been coaching wrestling full-time for over 20 years, and in that time he has coached the Penn State and Ohio State wrestling teams and many Olympians.

“I have personally designed the Gold Medal Camp System so that you will learn and retain as much as possible,” said Chertow. “Through a carefully planned sequence of instruction, unique drills, and review sessions, you will learn the techniques necessary to become a champion.”

Campers that attend Coach Chertow’s Gold Medal Training System excel at the state, national, and international levels, with the Super Gold campers demonstrating even more success. During the past decade Coach Chertow’s camps have helped groom more than 500 state champions. In addition to helping campers become more successful on the mat, Coach Chertow’s “Be a scholar athlete, not a dumb jock” slogan demonstrates how important the classroom is for young athletes, and his Academic All-American status demonstrates his belief in academic success.

Chertow camps throughout the country offer the highest quality wrestling staff available, with Olympians, NCAA and State Champions, and coaches from all over the country that are renowned for their knowledge of the sport.

CAMP OPENS THIS FRIDAY; Open spots available at camp in Denver!

For over 20 years the Gold Medal Training Camp System has had a proven track record for developing wrestlers into champions! Our Colorado Camp will begin this week, and we still have openings for wrestlers of all ages. In addition to Coach Chertow, our staff will include Olympic Gold Medalist Rulon Gardner!

For those wrestlers who are still in school, we offer modified 1-3 day camp options with pro-rated fees. Contact us for details.

Walk-ins will be accepted. Please arrive at the Crowne Plaza between noon and 2:30 pm on Friday, June 8. It will expedite the process if you bring a completed camp application with you. More information can be found in our confirmation letter.
