Quebec's Remy Bussieres Signs with Bellator MMA

After impressive back-to-back victories in his professional debut in 2012, young prospect Remy Bussieres (2-0-0) just signed a long-term agreement with the prestigious US based organization, Bellator MMA. Bussieres is a dream come true for any MMA organization as he is a spectacular athlete with tremendous punching power. 2012 was a great year for Bussieres, after going undefeated as an amateur in both MMA and Kickboxing, he went 2-0 in his professional debut with both wins coming by way of knock-out; and he was named the Quebec fighter of the year as well as getting the most votes for KO of the year in Quebec, and breakout fighter of the year.

For Bussieres, this signature with such a great organization is the logical next step in his career "I train so hard for this, and now that I signed with such a great company I'll just train twice as hard and I'll keep improving every day. Georges St-Pierre became the champion that he is because of his amazing talent but also because of his work ethic and I will follow in his example. Stephane just opened a huge door for me at this early stage of my career and I will seize this opportunity"

Bussieres, trained under famed Quebec trainer Yanick Bergeron is the first client of sports agent Stephane Patry who previously managed the careers of athletes such as Georges St-Pierre, Patrick Cote, David Loiseau and many other and recently announced his return in the sports management business. Patry was very proud of this signature "Remy is absolutely going to be a star in MMA – he has talent, power and most of all great work ethic – the ingredients needed to become a champion. This agreement with Bellator is unique as it will enable Remy to grow as an athlete and eventually take part in a Bellator tournament and winning himself a world title shot. I'd like to thank Sam Caplan and Bjorn Rebney for the confidence they put in us and the opportunity they give a young athlete like Remy".

Bussieres will make his Bellator debut sometime in the summer and it will also be his first fight in a new weight division - he will now compete as a lightweight (155 lbs).
