Salvador Guerrero and Cristian Barrionuevo to Fight for K-1 61.5kg Spain Championship on September 14th

On September 14th in Mallorca, Spain the best in the world at 70kgs will clash in the opening round of the K-1 World MAX tournament. While the K-1 World MAX Final 16 might feature some of the best and brightest within the 70kgs MAX division, Spain will have the unique opportunity to showcase some of their homegrown talent for the world to see as K-1 will crown a 61.5kg Champion of Spain at the event as well.

Two of Spain’s promising up-and-comers will be competing for that crown, promising a bright future within the K-1 organization at a lighter weight class and those fighters are Cristian Barrionuevo and Salvador Guerrero. You might not of heard of them yet — or seen them fight — but come September 14th all of that will change as they will be involved in crowning the first 61.5kgs Spain Champion.

Cristian Barrionuevo fights out of GG Fighters Team and has made quite a name for himself within the country so far. With 32 fights under his belt, including 22 wins, with 18 coming by the way of KO and only 8 losses, Barrionuevo would feel right at home adding the K-1 Spain Championship to his growing collection. That collection already includes the WKN European Championship as well as a Spanish Championship.

Salvador Guerrero might not have as much experience or be as decorated of a fighter, but he has still fought 20 times with 18 wins and only 2 losses. He fights out of the Team Guerrero K-1 Team – MGM and has shown a lot of promise. Guerrero has definitely turned some heads in Spain and will look to make a big impression within the K-1 ring by winning the K-1 Spain Championship.
