Superkombat World Grand Prix – Constanta: Official Results



Selected from the Superkombat World Tryouts from Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, Jamie Bates is the big winner of Superkombat World Grand prix, held in Mamaia, Romania, this Saturday. Coming as outsider at his debut in Superkombat World Grand Prix series, the 24 years old fighter was the big surprise of the light heavyweight tournament and now he is ready to make the big step to the final stages.

With an impressive record in his native country, Jamie Bates (22 wins – 2 losses) shocked the audience from the beginning after he defeated the public favorite, Flavius Boiciuc (17 wins – 2 losses). He stopped the Romanian with a style where he keep the distance and scored with his left hook and high kicks. In the second semifinal, Miles Simson (46 wins – 12 losses) get hist ticket to the final after he knockedown the former WAKO world champion Miljan Vidovic (14 wins – 0 losses) with 9 seconds before the end and switch off the winner from the judges papers. The tournament final finished with a split decision and the new rising star Jamie Bates managed his best performance from his career.

One of the most promising fighters from the Eastern Europe, Cristian Ristea scored another win by KO, this time against the German living in Spain, Christian Brorhilker. In the round three, Brorhilker was counted for the fourth time and the referee stopped the fight and “The Gladiator” have now 4 wins in Superkombat, 3 by KO and his future looks bright. The WKN Intercontinental champion Amansio Paraschiv made his comeback in the ring with a unanimous decision win against the Bulgarian Rangel Ivanov and he challenged the Superkombat New Heroes champion Cedric Manhoef for a rematch.

Another winner from the Superkombat World Tryouts from Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, Micky Terrill, made his successfully debut in Superkombat with a big win against the new hero Danut Hurduc while former WKA champion Aristote Quitusisa defeated the WAKO Pro European champion Daniel Alexandru.

In the main-event of the night, Sebastian Ciobanu was trying to score a fast win against Jallon Corentin. In the first round, Corentin was counted by the referee after he cannot react after a big series of strikes, but he comeback in the game and dominated the other two rounds. After three rounds of rumble, all judges decided a draw, but both fighters claimed their victory so in the near future they will have a rematch.

The next Superkombat event it’s scheduled on June 21st, live on Eurosport.

6. Super Fight – Middleweight Bout (-71 kg)
Amansio Paraschiv (Romania) defeated Rangel Ivanov (Bulgaria) by Unanimous Decision

7. Super Fight – Super Cruiserweight Bout (-95 kg)
Jallon Corentin (France) and Sebastian Ciobanu (Romania) has finished with a Draw
