Darrick: What was the road that led you to professional mixed martial arts competition?
Danillo: I started training Judo while I was very young and eventually picked up Jiu-Jitsu, which naturally transitioned me into the sport of MMA.
Darrick: In your experience so far, what brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?
Danillo: I feel fulfilled every time I win a fight. Fighting is my job and when I win it means I'm doing my job well. Nothing is more satisfying than being good at what you do for a living.
Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Mike Campbell on January 25th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?
Danillo: He is a tough guy from a good camp, it should definitely be an entertaining match. I am more than ready for this fight!
Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?
Danillo: Minotauro, Jorge Santiago, and my dad - Master Indio. They have always represented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu well and they are very good men outside of the ring. That is why I admire them.
Darrick: Do you have any words of advice for other individuals looking to compete in MMA?
Danillo: Follow your dreams and don't ever give up.
Darrick: Who is someone that greatly influenced you while growing up?
Danillo: My father, Master Indio. He taught me everything I know.
Darrick: Outside of mixed martial arts, what are your other interests?
Danillo: I like to hang out with my brothers, teach my students, and just enjoy the American lifestyle.
Darrick: If you were stranded in the middle of a jungle with only three items, what would they be?
Danillo: A knife, a bow and arrow, and salt. I don't eat anything that's unsalted!
Darrick: What is your oldest memory?
Danillo: My oldest memory is getting run over by a car when I was three years old in Brazil.
Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.
Danillo: I hate when I see people without shoes and sandals on outside of the mat. It drives me crazy!
