HDNet Fights on Monday announced it had agreed to a long-term partnership with Sengoku parent company World Victory Road to air exclusive content from the Japan-based promotion on HDNet.

Founded by renegade Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, HDNet -- which also has broadcast deals with the Maximum Fighting Championship, Sportfight and M-1 Challenge promotions, among others -- will feature 25 events from Asia in 2009, as the high-definition network has locked up partnerships with WVR, Dream, K-1 and K-1 Max.

“This continues our commitment to deliver the best MMA in the world,” said HDNet Fights CEO Andrew Simon. “No one promotion or network can match the depth and breadth of MMA broadcast on HDNet.”

HDNet’s coverage of WVR shows will begin on March 20 with Sengoku “Seventh Battle” at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo. The event will feature a light heavyweight showdown between Muhammed Lawal and Ryo Kawamura, along with the first round of a 16-man featherweight tournament. The list of tournament participants includes Hatsu Hioki, Masanori Kanehara, Tetsuya Yamada, Marlon Sandro, Ronnie Ushiwaka, Chris Manuel, Nick Denis and Jung Chan Sung.

“The high quality of our fighters and our competition has earned rave reviews from many of our fans and the media,” said Takahiro Kokuho, Executive Managing Director of World Victory Road Co. Ltd. “We look forward to sharing the ultimate martial arts form with the U.S. and MMA fans around the world.”

Sengoku held its most recent event, “No Ran 2009,” on Jan. 4 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. It featured a lightweight title bout pairing former Pride Fighting Championships cornerstone Takanori Gomi with Satoru Kitaoka and a middleweight championship fight between Kazuo Misaki and American Top Team’s Jorge Santiago.
