Cro Cop may end up in Affliction

In a recent interview with CROring.com, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic said he is choosing between 3 different organizations to make his return in, Mirko said his choices include offers from, DREAM, UFC, and "another American organization."

Another American organization? Strikeforce? Affliction?
Stikeforce is very doubtful, they just bought EliteXC, and they definitely don't pay as much as his other choices. So there is no real reason to head off to Strikeforce, besides maybe a fight with Overeem.

This leaves us to say the "other American organization" is indeed Affliction. Affliction would be the most ideal place for Mirko to fight in for two basic reasons, the pay, and the Ring.



As many of you know Cro Cop has only fought 3 times in the cage in his life, on the other end he has 50 fights in a ring and that's not counting his amateur boxing career. There is no doubt that the ring is his comfort zone, Cro Cop is also very well known for his amazing striking ability, and the ring Definitely favors the strikers, while the cage(octagon) favors the grapplers.

Combine the ring with the big paycheck Affliction offers, we may see Cro Cop at Affliction very soon.

To back up all this we have a quote from Tom Atencio him self during a live chat Q&A session. When Atencio was asked about Cro Cop he replied with this, "He's awsome and we would love to have him here at Affliction. Cro Cop would be a very interesting fighter here at Affliction."

So there is every reason to believe that the "other American org" is Affliction! The rest is for Mirko to decide.

and to people saying Affliction won't be around much longer, they actually did 50% better than their first show. So it looks like Affliction might be here to stay.
