At the time of this interview, his next scheduled match is against Troy Gerhart in Bellator Fighting Championships at BFC 7 on May 15th, 2009.

Darrick: How did you end up competing in professional mixed martial arts?

Lorenzo: I started training in Judo and Kung Fu, then I ended up in Muay Thai. I fought all around the world in Muay Thai for ten years. Eventually, my friend Alessio Sakara invited me to live and train here in the USA to compete in MMA.

Darrick: In your experience so far, what brings you the most fulfillment out of MMA?

Lorenzo: There is a lot of interest here in the United States for mixed martial arts and the competition level is very high.

Darrick: Who is someone in the sport that you highly respect?

Lorenzo: Fedor Emelianenko. He is the man.

Darrick: Your next scheduled fight is against Troy Gerhart on May 15th. What are your thoughts about this upcoming match?

Lorenzo: Troy is a very tough opponent - he's strong and very well-rounded. This is going to be a very hard fight for me.

Darrick: Any words of advice for other individuals looking to compete in MMA?

Lorenzo: Take this job very seriously. Also, only do it if you love the sport for real.

Darrick: Who is someone that greatly influenced you while growing up?

Lorenzo: My father was the greatest influence that I had when I was younger.

Darrick: Outside of martial arts, what are your other interests?

Lorenzo: I love reading, eating, and traveling.

Darrick: What moment in your life have you been proudest of so far?

Lorenzo: That would be when I got my college degree.

Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

Lorenzo: I can eat twenty-four donuts in a row.

Darrick: What is your oldest memory?

Lorenzo: Training my kicks against a wall by myself when I was three years old.
