The family of actor Andrew Koenig had their worst fears confirmed on Thursday afternoon when the body of the 41-year-old Koenig—known best for his role as Richard "Boner" Stabone on the 1980s family sitcom Growing Pains—was discovered in Vancouver's Stanley Park, according to CNN. He had been missing since February 14; his parents, worried that they hadn't heard from their son, disclosed that Andrew had been battling depression and warned that he may do something to harm himself.
His father, Walter Koenig, was also an actor: He played Pavel Chekov in the original Star Trek series. Andrew Koenig also appeared in 21 Jump Street, My Two Dads, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He filmed a few small movies in the last few years, but it's his role as Boner—the hilarious, dim-witted, and classic sidekick to Mike Seaver (Kirk Cameron)—that he'll be best remembered for in his career.
UPDATE: Walter Koenig has said his son committed suicide.
