Cody Carrillo Ready to Defy Expectations at Titan 21

If there a sleeper potential fight of the night match at Titan Fighting Championship 21, March 2 on HD Net, it is between Cody Carrillo (2-3) and Mirsad Bektic (2-0). Carrillo, who is on a two fight win streak, comes in ready to dethrone the rising star Bektic.

“I feel for sure people are looking past me when it comes to Mirsad’s career. That’s cool with me. I know how this business works. I’m tougher than the other guys he has fought. I’m going to open some eyes,” Carrillo said.

Carrillo, who fights out of Janjira Muay Thai, is not a newcomer when it comes to the sport of MMA. This Bellator veteran has had more fights than many of the fighters combined on most cards.

“I had almost twenty amateur fights, so my total fight count is probably close to thirty five. There isn’t anything I haven’t seen in that cage so there are no butterflies going into a fight like this,” Carrillo said.

Even so, many viewers may be seeing Carrillo for the first time at Titan 21 and while he realizes this he wants them to know he’s coming to make fans of them all.

“I come to fight. My fans know what to expect from m. I’m not coming to lay and pray. My job is to finish the fight. New fans seeing me for the first time, know that I come to fight,” Carrillo said.

In addition to the motivation that comes from fighting one of the most popular fighters on the card in Bektic, Carrillo also wants to entertain the friends and family that will be in attendance to watch both he and his brother fight. Andrew Carrillo, his younger brother, will be fighting in the co-main event of the evening.

“We’ve fought on the same card before, but it’s been quite a while. It’s great to be on the same card as him. Friends and family get to see us both on the same card. We always push each other for sure and try to be there for each other and I’m excited to see what he does,” Carrillo said.

Cody Carrillo will be facing Mirsad Bektic in a 145 war at Titan Fighting Championship 21 on March 2 live on HD Net.

Isaac ‘The Running Man’ Enriquez Looks to Win Again at Titan 21

Titan Fighting Championship 21 will be putting a number of amateur fighters in the spotlight on March 2. One of those is Isaac Enriquez (5-1), who will be having his third fight for a Titan event when he takes on Emery McReynolds (4-0).

This match puts two world class wrestlers against each other in what is sure to be a barnburner early event bout.

“Emery’s was an All-American Wrestler in college, so I think he’s going to try and take me down, but I’ve been working at HD MMA on improving that to try and keep it on the feet. I just want to show everybody how hard I’ve been training. I’ve been working on everything so that I can go in there and show everyone what I’ve got. Not just my wrestling. Not just my kickboxing. Everything,” Enriquez said.

Enriquez cross trains out of HD MMA but calls Caveman Crew his home gym; a gym that gave him his nickname of ‘The Running Man’.

“The gym is about two miles from my house, so I run there and back every time we have practice. That’s helped with my cardio for sure,” Enriquez said laughing, “I don’t back down, I like to move forward. My cardio is as good as anybody’s so I won’t lay off for a minute, I won’t give him any room to rest.”

Between the two gyms Enriquez believes he’s bringing something special for the fans at Titan 21, “This is by the best training camp I’ve ever had. I’m more ready for this fight than any other.”

Fans will want to be in their seats by the time this match starts, as Enriquez promises fireworks.

“I hope they’re ready to see a war, just an all out brawl. If he wants to beat me, he’s going to have to put it all out there for nine minutes because I’m not quitting. I’m not tapping out.”

Isaac Enriquez wanted to thank his sponsor Nichols Painting.
