International Cast of Jiu-Jitsu Legends Unite for Inaugural World Jiu-Jitsu Expo Held in Long Beach, California

The inaugural World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, which will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2012, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA, will set the new standard for promoting the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Renzo Gracie, President of the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, will be in attendance. Far more than a tradeshow, the WJJE will feature an extensive slate of BJJ seminars taught by Roger Gracie, Braulio Estima, André Galvão, Robert Drysdale, Rodrigo Comprido, Caio Terra, and many more. The event will also include the inaugural BJJ Awards, panel discussions, a tradeshow floor packed with exhibitors, and the Long Beach Spring International Open IBJJF Championship. For more information about the tournament, visit ibjjf.com.

Super-fights are scheduled to take place between incredible BJJ talents including UFC welterweight Nick Diaz. The action-packed day will conclude with a BJJ Hall of Fame induction ceremony honoring some of the biggest names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

“This is the first of many World Jiu-Jitsu Expos in the United States," says Renzo Gracie. “Americans have embraced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to a degree rarely seen outside of Brazil, and it is a privilege for us to be involved in this first event.”

In addition to these events the WJJE will also host a gallery of exclusive, never-before-seen photos by veteran photographer Susumu Nagao, the only photographer present at the inaugural PRIDE FC, UFC, and ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship events that capture the roots of mixed martial arts while the sport was still in its infancy.

Tickets for the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo can be purchased for $15 at worldjiujitsuexpo.com.
