ELITE MUAY THAI KICKBOXING RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY FOR “BATTLE AT BALLY’S II” ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 11 AT BALLY’S GRAND BALLROOM
TaKe-On Productions and MSG Sports announced the return of full rules Thai Kickboxing to Atlantic City with “Battle at Bally’s II,” a professional and amateur Muay Thai event set to take place on Sunday, August 11 in the Grand Ballroom at Bally’s Casino. Sanctioned by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, this event will feature a fight card that includes today’s best professional and amateur Muay Thai fighters, competing under full Thai rules which allow for forceful knee and elbow strikes.
Tickets beginning at $55.00 are on sale now and can be purchased via: www.thegarden.com , all Ticketmaster locations, the Bally’s box office, and at Muay Thai and MMA gyms throughout NY, NJ, and PA. Fans can visit www.TakeOnProductions.com for special event VIP packages, along with the full fight card, fighter information and other exciting content. “Battle at Bally’s II” is being produced by TaKe-On Productions in association with MSG Sports.
"I couldn't be happier about our return to the Bally's Atlantic City, NJ, a venue which has seen an increasing amount of MMA, Boxing and now Muay Thai events,” said Eddie Cuello, president, TaKe-On Productions. “Our fighters will have the privilege of stepping into the same ring that has witnessed legendary fights such as Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward. Ten years from now people will be making the same comparison to fighters who are competing in this event!"
“Following the thrilling debut of Muay Thai kickboxing at Madison Square Garden earlier this year, we are excited to continue our partnership with TaKe-On Productions and return to Atlantic City for ‘Battle at Bally’s II’ on August 11,” said Scott O’Neil, president, MSG Sports.
“‘Battle of Bally’s II’ provides guests with a level of excitement and high octane energy rarely seen in this region,” said Kevin Ortzman, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Bally’s and Showboat Atlantic City. “Muay Thai kickboxing, in itself, treats audiences to competitors that consistently give all-out, tour-de-force performances, so the fact that we have an exhibition taking place in a venue as intimate as the Bally’s Grand Ballroom, makes this a truly coveted ticket.”
The main event will be the much anticipated rematch between Gabriel Varga and Philadelphia’s Justin Greskiewicz. At the time of their first bout, Varga had only a handful of pro fights under his belt and surprised the more experienced Greskiewicz with an impressive win, which left Greskiewicz battered. Since that loss, Justin has been staying busy overseas in England and domestically in Las Vegas by fighting some of the toughest and most notable Muay Thai opponents, including Thai Legend and Elite XC veteran Malaipat Sitprapom.
Other bouts include Jay Matias vs. Douglas Ahammer, Andy Singh vs. Anthony Demaio, and Spencer Grokoski vs. Chris Mauceri for the first-ever TaKe-On 145lb title. Ariel Abreu will be fighting for the first-ever TaKe-On 185lb title against New Jersey native, Paul Miller. Abreu is undefeated with an impressive record of 5-0 including a victory at the inaugural “Muay Thai at the Mecca” back in March. Other features on the explosive fight card include Nick Vaughan defending his Middleweight TaKe-On belt and Prairie Rugilio will defend her NJ women’s belt.
