MATT HUGHES' HIT SQUAD GYM OPENS SATURDAY

For MMA fans in the St. Louis Metro area, Saturday, Feb. 9, will definitely be a ground breaking day.

Matt Hughes’s new gym, “The HIT Squad” will be celebrating its grand opening in Granite City, Ill. In addition to a number of demonstrations that The Hit Squad staff will perform, there will also be various raffles, free giveaways and a ribbon cutting ceremony that begins at 11 a.m. The grand opening will be free of charge to the public and anyone and everyone is invited to attend.

According to the gym’s Website, attendees can anticipate a number of goodies, including a free raffle for DPMS rifles and giveaways by 2nd Wind Exercise equipment and One More Round clothing. The United States Army will also be in attendance to hand out souvenirs, while employees of the gym will be handing out free subway sandwiches and The HIT Squad decals while supplies last.

Other giveaways include a Dollamur Mats raffle of a 5-foot by 10-foot camouflage home grappling mat, Hammer Strength/Life Fitness and Ringside Boxing and Combat Sports International items.

The HIT Squad will no doubt be one of the premier mixed martial arts training facilities in the Midwest, and in addition to personal instruction by Matt Hughes; Robbie Lawler, Matt Pena and Marc Fiore – each founding members of the gym – will be instructing, training and managing fighters for competitions across the world.

According to http://www.thehitsquad.com, “The training center will be a world-class facility designed to enhance the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of its members. The center’s purpose is education, channeled through weight training, boxing and martial arts.”

The gym is not simply for those interested in competing in MMA, though. The gym’s Website also stated, “It will cater to a wide range of members, from the very young to the elderly, from the novice to the world class professional, from singles to large families, and both men and women.
